I am using Windows XP SP1. In my computer, when I attempt to run a .NET Application, I get the following error:
"Application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). "
I am getting the error even I have already installed .NET 2.0 SP2, .NET 3.0 SP1, .NET 3.5 SP1, .NET 4.0. Although I have installed all these frameworks I cannot run even .NET 2.0 applications.
Also, In Chrome, nothing else is loading in the view(center of the window): ie., the title bar, tab and address bar appear but nothing appear in the centre. I think this error is related to the peviously said error. I have tried Repairing, reinstalling these .NET Frameworks but in vain.
Another fact, for only one time these .NET Applications and Google Chrome worked finely; I thought the error cleared and I didn't do any thing and I Shut down by Computer. But, In the next start, the error occured. RADStudio also stopped functioning as it uses .NET through COM. Is this error is because of a viral infection? Will it be cleared if I scan the Computer using an antivirus? I am completely devoid of idea. Please help me!!

It's impossible to answer such a question, but if Chrome is not working then it is entirely possible that something has corrupted your system. Try a full virus scan to see if you can identify the problem. Also, see http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/expression/en-US/2b348d1e-ed0a-4ef0-8957-fcb827b8972c/the-application-failed-to-initialize-properly-0xc000007b-click-on-ok-to-terminate-the-application.

"Windows XP SP1".... install the service packs.

1 solution

I think there is a problem with Registry and DLL files. I used to have such error , Really sorry but can't suggest any particular solution. You can re-install windows, but don't know how comfortable you will be with it. But before that, Try some Windows Registry tweak softwares and see what happens then. Ask this question in some MSDN may be they can help you.
