HTML TABLE Cell colour change

<table><tbody><tr><td onclick="toggle_visibility('tbl1');"></td></tr></tbody></table>


In this html table code only one is working.If i remove toggle_visibility then background colour is working and if backgroundcolor code is taken out toggle visibility is working.How can i make both functional.
