Hi all,

Every-time once I connect/disconnect the second monitor and extend I have to re-arrange all the shortcuts on my desktop. So I have to spend lot of time to re-arrange them all. How can I stop this, comments really appreciate.

Thanks in advance!

Off-topic. This is a question on using the system as a regular (and probably not very experienced) user, not as a software developer.

Under the 'quick answers' I can discuss any topic, isn't it? That's why I post this :)

I don't think so. It's pretty likely, that your post will be automatically deleted due to some abuse reports. Off-topic questions are considered as abuse. The community tries to get rid of trash.

That's a valid question. And I know the PITA when the icons get rearranged/moved. In my case, the extension monitors in the company office and in my home office had different sizes - and that could cause the icons (only 8 icons, an almost empty screen) to disappear (actually they were just a little left from the left margin). Meanwhile, the monitors have the same size, and the problem was "solved".

There is no such thing as miracle. You change the aspect ratio of monitor, then the desktop just has to re-arrange. If the way it is re-arranged seems to be less convenient than what you would like, please direct all complains to Microsoft. This is not a software development question.

By the way, I never heard that real software developers relied on such a volatile thing like arrangement of icons on a desktop, and even less of experienced people wasting their valuable time for manual arrangement of icon on a desktop. I always saw almost empty desktop. This is mostly a toy for non-experienced users.

Thanks for the comment :)

I don't think that an experienced developer not identified because of the simplicity, or the empty desktop. Its all about the practice they work out over the years. People have there own habits to the workout that they have to do.

I did no say so. Don't put your words on my mouth. Of course it has no principle importance, but it characterizes the level of your question. Anyway, nothing to discuss here: this is all off-topic. Sorry.
