State Management in Mobile Application

I am developing a mobile Application using Icenium Graphite.(new to this concept of mobile development)

My app will be having a many users and all those users will have data in SQL SERVER database.

Also i am using WebApi for communication between database and Mobile Application.

my question is how to manage the state(session) of particular user?

I went through one article online according to that i can't use cookies.

Is it possible to use Hidden fields or any other techniques? some light on this will help a lot
