hello, am trying to do an assignment that involves generating a public and private key in a RSA cryptosystem using the algorithms for the key generation. my problem now is how to write for 256, 128 and 512. i think i can write it but i just dont know which bit i will be writing on.....i want to know how to enforce the production of the keys to specific bits. thanks a lot

What's wrong with reading standard MSDN documentation?

Please see:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.security.cryptography.rsa%28v=vs.110%29.aspx[^],
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.security.cryptography.asymmetricalgorithm.legalkeysizesvalue%28v=vs.110%29.aspx[^].

That said, you have to use one of the legal values for the key size, those which are supported. Please check it out. I never heard of such small values of key sizes as you have shown, not sure if they make any sense.
