I have a form using a button to open excel file (ID.xls) and button to open word doc(Register.doc). Want to setup on CD and have the files and documents available to the program.
Basically just using an interface to open documents and use the users laptops office package to open the documents.

I have used process.start("C:\Testvb\register.doc") in button1 command and this opens on my laptop but files not seen on second laptop.


Please help with coding of the buttons and how to add files correctly into resoures. I have added the files into resources and see them in solution explorer. Have pulled in references : Microsoft.Office.Core and Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word and see them in solution explorer.

In the Properties for the files in solution explorer the
Build action : Compile
Copy to output: Copy always

and ensured they added to project

Please, I am lost and need some help!!:confused:

Using Visual Studio 2005 and coding in VB. Have office 2007, windows 7 but save all documents as 2003.
