If you are new then forget VB6, it was withdrawn years ago. Get yourself a copy of VB.NET (see http://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/downloads#d-2010-express[^]). As to how you would write an OCR application, you need to do some (or a lot of) research into the subject.

Thanks. I wonder how it is that so many people seem to believe that VB6 is cutting edge technology?

Agree. Even I was a VB6 developer but don't want to touch that any more. They don't want .NET framework(In past, I asked one guy & he told me that. He thinks VB6 is lighter than VB.NET). Plus they don't want to buy .NET because they have VB6. I told many guys about SharpDevelop & MonoDevelop but .... *sigh*

And recently I saw this article. Check it out. There I saw our Dave's replies again(I have seen many replies from him when it comes VB6 in forums).

I was actually surprised how anyone could consider VB6 a technology at all, even at the moment of its introduction to the market. It was virtually dead even then. Well, not so much surprised though; there is such a type of people...

Me too, but it still seems to have a large fan base.
