Hello Friends,

I have created a vb.net application in VS2010 and added a service as a reference but when I built the app, reference.vb is throwing multiple errors.

"This is the error: Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference"

However the same is running fine when I created a c# windows forms application.

The references are already there so I am not sure where the issue is.

This is something new to me as I have never seen this issue before and could not find much help on Google as well. If anyone could help. Thanks in advance :)

Well I am not sure what it is that you think we can do. The error message means exactly what it says. And you are not giving us any code to look at...

No. You need to show the line with the error. It's not in the fragment of code you are showing.
The error is very basic, it tells you that you have no idea of very basic OOP syntax and semantic.

I am very well aware of OOP syntax. If you have read my question, the issue here is with reference.vb file that got generated when we added the service as a reference to the application.
I tired the reference as well but somehow it's still the same error. Not sure where could the issue be.

Please, show the code as you have it. I'm not saying that you are not aware, the compiler says you so, in essense. Of course it could be just a slip of your hand... :-)
But frankly, "well aware" people never has such elementary problems... No offense, we all learn thing at the elementary level at first, but it's better not to overestimate your knowledge and understanding, and not to underestimate your potential... :-)

So far, you are not showing your problem. Please, stop wasting time. Either show everything you are concerned with clear.

I am also not sure what exactly you need. I mentioned everything related to this issue here. Yes as I mentioned in very first line of my question it is a VB.Net. I have not written any code yet. I am getting this error by just adding service to the reference.<br>
I would appreciate if you could help me with my question or please feel free to ignore it. Thanks and sorry for wasting your time.

I don't need anything, you do. ~~Isn't that simple: show the code with the lines with the error. In each line with the error, add a comment with the error message. That's all. And then I'll help you, I'll guarantee that.~~

Sorry, if you did not write any code, it would be more difficult to find out. Anyway, I don't know what's wrong.
And then my considerations about your OOP knowledge would be totally incorrect, because your mistake, if any, could be subtle and not directly related to the use of OOP. I am sorry for my jumping to conclusion.

Hi, No problem and dont worry, you would for sure help me if I was enough clear for your better understanding of my question. No hard feelings :) Finally application is running well as I mentioned in my solution.

Finally after work around I found solution. It was easy from my end.

Just removed "=System." from reference.vb and application is running smooth.

From:

Form:=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)

To:

Form:=Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)
