Hi all,

Is it possible to grab a screen shot of an application window even when the
PC is locked?

It is possible when it's not locked but just get a black image when it is locked.

Best,

By "lock", you mean the user selects "Lock" from the menu where you can also select "Shut down", "Logout", etc, right? Assuming that you are working under Windows OS that is.

You could use a digicam or your smartphone camera.

Theoretically, you may be able to remote-connect to your locked machine and read the current display. But if the connection isn't already established before it locks down, chances are that you can not connect.

You might even use some teleconference software like GoToMeeting for that purpose - if one end freezes you can still snapshot the last transferred display from the other end. But as stated before, you need to connect before the lock.

No, probably not.

The trouble is that in order to take a screenshot, you need processor time - and if you could get processor time, then there is a good chance your system wouldn't be locked up to start with!
