I have been given the task of creating a way of automating the following process:
1. every twelve hours, analyze the SQL database and identify new and/or modified entries and identify new and/or modified personnel images
2. create an export file for the new/modified information to be used to import the data into another system
3. place this export file and any new/modified personnel images into a folder
Each export file and folder should have a unique name/identifier, likely to be time and date.

My question is: Does anyone have any tips or help to offer on doing this directly through SQL Server 2008, or a way to utilize C++ to work with SQL Server to automate the process.

I have been unable to find a way to copy the Image files at all using SQL, and it has been a couple years since I have used either SQL or C++, so I'm a little rusty.

Any help, tips, or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

at first you need to make a plan and split your tasks and than you find the solution.

The biggest problem are the pictures. You got to get the information HOW these pics come in the database. And if you know that, than code the reverse and you have it.

the other stuff sounds like a homework for a student ;-)
