I have an ohaus scale that has ethernet connectivity. I need to read values from it and write a zeroing command to it using ascii. Can anyone give me a clue on what it will take to program this via C# .net 4.0. Thanks in advance

You would need to use a TCP class to communicate to your scale, read the documentation for your scale and contact the scale manufacturer customer support people for instructions or they might even have sample code with their SDK.

...and I explained what it "TCP class" might be in my answer; your comment it of course credited.

THe problem is the manufacturer does not have an SDK and was no help in solving the connectivity to the scale.

I'm thinking you'll need to open a socket to the scale.

I expect you'll need an http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.sockets.socket(v=vs.110).aspx
