I suppose to give the question the benefit of the doubt, they may be talking about which client hardware will be seeing the web app. But even in this case, what about folks who are writing databases or other servers that have web service or API based interfaces. This seems like a somewhat myopic question.
I think that it is not clear that a SuperComputer (like Cray) is a server. maybe yes, maybe not. Any way, 3.5% if very low. I work normally for server software and I miss that supercomputer is a server. I think that the survey should include a server option.
I'm am currently writing code for a wearable device that uses an ARM based microcontroller in C that provides data via Bluetooth Smart (TI CC2540 using custom BASIC scripting) to an iPad/iPhone (iOS 5 XCode 4.2) and an application for Windows using C# (VS2010).
I seem to find myself using mind programming techniques such as intentional thinking. I find it helps in getting stuff done. Not just work though. It helps with any kind of task. Kind of like when you were a kid pitching a baseball and you imagine NOT hitting your brother with it.
Making something do useful work on a range of platforms should also be an option.
The Curiosity EDL code might run faster on my phone than it does on Curiosity, but without the parachute, skycrane and heatshield, my phone would be lucky to make a small mark on the surface (more likely just pollute the atmosphere).
