That's the question.
I am registered to FB but I actually don't use it oft. Just when I get messages from active friends there or similars.
I am not the kind of person that "Is seeing TV" or "Getting ready to go out" or whatever, posting pictures of everything.
If a friend creates an event to celebrate Birthday or shares they are going to have a baby or things like that, then I answer / post something in their walls.
Regards.

That's what facebook is for. Just tell your mates things they would not otherwise find out, pop in pictures of holidays or stuff to save sending them to everyone, organise band practices. One of my nieces does the "hey, got up this morning!" so I blocked her. A sister just copy-and-pastes political nonsense so she got blocked too. A lot of my friends and relations live in other countries or even continents, so we see a lot of who got a grandchild, who took up motorcycling. My Mum, who is 86, reads it to keep up with the family, but it doesn't replace telephoning, it gives us reasons to telephone.
I never ever use it for work. The few workmates I click on are friends.

That's the point. A healthy use of it. But sad that this is not the usual

I usually find emails to be much more private and intimate way of communicating with people I care about.
All the nonsense that usually goes with FB is just not worth little extra convenience it provides for sharing content with people.

I used to have a MySpace and then all my friends moved on to the next social platform, Hyves (which is kind of a Dutch thing I think). After a while I decided to join Hyves then everyone moved to FB... I really don't see the difference between the one and the other. Put some pics online, have not-so-private conversations and let everyone know you're using the bathroom... What's the big deal? I've never moved to FB and I miss out on quite some stuff, invitations, announcements, news... Everything happens on FB. It's worth it! Why? Because friendship isn't something that you can subscribe to. I have a few friends who take their time to send me an e-mail telling me what they just posted on FB. The upside is I know who my real friends are and I only get the news that's important enough to actually let me know personally. I too spent time to personally let my friends know how I'm doing. The downside is that at my current rate I won't have any friends left by next year
I check CP on regular basis. I like it here and I have a professional interest in the site and its people. I also hope to score chicks here

Yoy Better move to FB its just better than other social networks! And I agree that is best in professional interest in the site and its people.

Well, regarding the ones that are written there I'm only reading on twitter, which I find amazing to read... once you are following the right people then magic happens there...
Apart of that, I've abandoned facebook long time ago and linked in is not used a lot. (once per month at much).
But of course I can't live without my CP dose each day... several times... well, sometimes I work a little, but only when it is really urgentz and so... you all know...

Hirun Meepage wrote: What is CP Dose erm... CP means CodeProject. Typically we write CP or and we refer to our members as CPians or ians.
and a Dose... well... this has a direct relationship with drugs... I think it can also be "shot".
