politics is what happens when people interact with the implicit threat of violence, no more no less

violence isn't necessary. [and libertarianism is a moral dead end]
politics is people trying to convince other people to do something. it's how people interact.

For those who practice politics, violence is necessary when convincing others (negotiation) fails.
It seems clear that we're not going to agree, even on definitions.

no, violence is not necessary. it's a possibility, but it's neither inevitable nor necessary.
have you never heard of compromise or simply, gasp, not getting your way?

Sure I've heard of those things. They happen regularly. But in all my dealings, I want those outcomes to be voluntary, whether for me or someone else.

Were the options to the survey ninja updated?

Arguably also Vanilla JS; just with a higher degree of code reuse.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

You can literally choose all of those.
I don't do front-end web development, Vanilla JS and/or other are what you're looking for.
Maybe the survey guru is writing a book, but you can't even read so why do you care?

I'm currently using Vue, and love it. But if I have to stuck with a framework, my choice will be no framework. Or, maybe wasm...

Isn't it time we moved to a binary webpage model? Why do we stick with a frankly piss-poor web delivery mechanism just because it started out human readable for ease of debugging?
Even in HTML5 version, it's a bad design that's been hacked to death and isn't fit for purpose in the modern world.
Sorry ... didn't mean to rant here.

Just an aside - HTML is essentially XML - and that's running heavily in VS for some time now. Wouldn't that be a better place to rant?
Else, it must have some redeeming characteristic - like how would extensibility (which is implicit - the browser works as best as it can even for new and unsupported features)
Can we do so for binary? Perhaps stored in each browsers HTML.dll file? How to handle all this. Certainly not impossible but will it really improve things?

I try not to do web but get dragged into it all the time. We don't use any of these frameworks, just JS, jQuery and something for layout/formatting called Bootstrap.

What I wish is that MS come up with a c# version of javascript. Strongly typed, and a language most of their web devs are familiar with. How could they go wrong?

Isn't Typescript a step towards that direction?

IMHO, no. It's still javascript. I want to code client side in c#. If the "compiler" converts it to javascript, that's fine, but I want to code in c#.
