I want to make smoothing in signal processing using C#
i wish i can have a small code to convert sound wave to array and play with this array

In previous companies, it didn't matter how much time it should take to do a project, management had already made up their mind when it had to be finished... At that point, it is a matter of figuring out what features they will have to do without. If time permits, they can be added in at the end.

I have for a while using a shorthand vertsion called early estimation. I am currently changing my methodology to to COSMIC FFP.
The reason for the change is because of the dual view points supported, the user view point and the developer view point. Just gettng ready to start up a six sigma project to develop the procedures so I can roll it out to a very large organization.
COSMIC represents a 2nd generation approach. Part of what we'll be doing is going back and sizing existing enhancements and mapping the size (counts) to actual development time to calibrate our effort estimation tool.
fyi - even though I was using a shorthand version of IFPUG, it was wickedly accurate but with the developer view in COSMIC you can distribute the development budget (created initially from the user view) to the effort at different levels (layers) in your applilcation. good stuff, really.

Some people are far more picky, and don't give you the right details upfront - they only know what they want when you show them something near complete!  Also something new/different from your usual type of project is obviously going to have more unknowns. Bigger buffer needed in both cases.
Also beware of TV ads for sports cars - they sub-consiously inflate your buffer hundred-fold

I struggled with estimating projects (and with billing accurately)
because I was always guessing in the dark. I had no historical data on
how long it took me to do past projects.
I realized that I needed to track my time on projects and downloaded and reviewed a dozen different time tracking software products.
I picked Responsive Time Logger: http://www.responsivesoftware.com/rs/id/3002_1_aaid_2.
Now I easily make more money and ensure I can bid profitably because I track my
hourly and fixed price projects using the built-in on-screen stopwatch (or
enter time after-the-fact). I then use it to automatically generate
invoices. I also use it to get the history of how long it took me to complete
past projects. That enables me to accurately estimate how long it would
take to do it again.
Tracking my time on projects has been a business-saver. It keeps me in
business because I know how long it took to do a projects AND I keep track of
my time on hourly projects and bill for more of my time - thus.... MORE
MONEY!

I think that many times honesty and accuracy depends on the above factors.

I used to use a more succinct variation on this, telling my clients:
Pick any two: fast, cheap, accurate.
If nothing else, it usually got a smile....

OK.... but that makes no difference to developing web-based projects - you still have to write code that will run on all (major, anyway) browsers..... in fact, life would be SO much easier if there was only one browser in existence, even (dare I even think it) if it was Netscape Navigator...
