Android GCM Push Notification

Hi,

I've figured it out. What I did wrong was the API key. I had configured a browser key instead of a server key (I've read that server keys failed and browser keys should be used. That was not my case.)

And, to answer my question, the IDs aaaaaare:

GoogleAppID = the server api key
deviceid = the registration ID (184 characters)
SENDER_ID = 12 digits app ID (the project number)

Also, I had issues with the post data format. I've checked it here: http://developer.android.com/google/gcm/http.html[^]

- the last parameter is not @ registration; the & must be used instead of the @
- data.message did now work, I have the use data

hi, i used this code with asp.net but an exception has occured in the line WebResponse webResponse = webRequest.GetResponse(). the exception is "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized"

Please note there is a mismatch in the string "®istration_id=" in the code example, because of the HTML conversion of the string &reg to ®.
This string should be "&registration_id=" instead of "®istration_id=".
Otherwise the registration_id parameter is not passed and the GCM server replies "Error=MissingRegistration".

I need to send push notifications (PN) at some fixed time. For example, I don't want to wake my users before 8AM, so I would like to instruct google to deliver PNs at 9AM each day.

Problem is, my users might be spread all over the globe, I really cannot tell what locat time is there... does google give the ability to schedule PNs by local time of registered applications?

PS: I read about iOS's UILocalNotification (maybe there is similar for Android too) but i don't want to set anything locally, I just want to send the PN from a remote server (with custom data) and put a restriction regarding the delivering time.

What to write in Sender Id and GoogleApp Id

You can find the google app ID and sender id from the google apps once you sign in with it.

Hi When i add a device_ID given by me from GCM_server

i also added Google API Key (Browser Key)
Added SendeR_ID as my project_ID

The WebResponse we are hitting giving me MissingRegistration Error

How can i Fix it

In my case it was an error of getting data from json object.

Please check your code and make sure you have replaced all the credential provided like GoogleAppID,SENDER_ID. If still doesn't work send me code I will have a look at it.
