Hi all,

I've been a member for years, but I've never contributed to someone else's article, so I thought I would ask what the proper etiquette is :-)

If I've made pretty substantial improvements and changes to the main code in an article and have been asked for my changes by a few people in comments on that article, and the changes are too large to post in the comments, what is the proper way to make the changes available? Should I try to get the original author involved? Just email the people that asked? Make a new article?

Thanks,

- Lutz

You can write an article and state the original source and add your own content with explanations on what and how you changed with the associated benefits.

In addition to Mehdi's comments you can post your updates as an alternative to an existing article. If you want further help then ask in the Article Writing forum[^] and an administrator will help you.
