gharry, it's easy, just don't close the doors, better try and open them up and breath fresh air (asp.net air cough cough intoxicating just kidding hehe).
I think there's something wrong with your page directive in aspx file.
I don't see the namespace in which the DownLoad class is contained. I see you are working with VS 2005 so I'm not entirely sure, but when you first create the project, the default namespace usually is the name of the project, so I think in your aspx file, the page directive should be something like:
If you are not sure about the namespace, right click and select properties in your web project, and there's a default namespace text there, that's the one. and also check if your class is declared inside a namespace, for example
partial class DownLoad End Class
if this is the case, you have to add to the default namespace, the SillyNamespaces like: DefaultNameSpace.SillyNamespaces. If not then you are simply missing the namespace in the page directive.
May be this is the problem, do make sure to run your web project by simply pressing F5 to execute it.
Hi there. One thing I noticed with your post is that you stated at the beginning you were using VS 2005 - but at the end, the .NET framework version information you list is 1.1.4322.2300 - I thought that VS2005 needed to work exclusively with the 2.0 version of the .NET framework. Is that what is causing your problem?
In fact, you don't need to compile the code beside file before running the web page. IMO, you may need to follow Mike's comment to double check the version of the ASP.NET of your application as it seems that you are running side by side multiple versions of the ASP.NET.
Hello everyone, I'm in the process of writing an application in which I'd like the user to be able to access his/her mail through. The mail provider in question is a webmail client provided by my host. I'd like to be able to auto-fill the name and password fields from session variables and somehow programmatically trigger the submit button of the login page for the webmail app, so the user would not have to manually log in to their account.
Yes, I suppose I am trying to code events for a page hosted on another site. Sorry about being vague, maybe this will clear things up a little:
What I'm trying to do is make this application in frames, the left-hand side being the menu that be responsible for storing all session variables and will contain a linkbutton to my hosting provider's web mail app. This will open up in the right-hand frame. I (obviously) do not have access to the code of the mail mail app, so I was thinking that maybe there was some way that on the linkbutton event I can see what page is loaded in the right-hand frame, and if it is the web mail app, automatically fill in the values of the login and password box from session variables and trigger the submit button.
It's not absolutely necessary to do, I was just looking to spare my users the slight inconvenience of having to log in twice (once for my application, and once for the webmail, both of which will use the same information).

my problem is related to html design. I have a html table with two row and single column in page. height of first row is "20%",In this row there is a simple banner user control(.ascx) In second row there is a heavy table of contents (other simple server control like labels, text boxes etc, which is very long for a normal height of page. So a virtical scroll bar appears in page. My problem is,in this case, that upper row(first row),now no longer remains 20% in height. It shrinks to height of .ascx control. If the inner content table is not very long then it remains 20% in height. I user this outer table structure in all pages,so if page is long in height then upper banner control portion becomes small, less then 20% and if it is not long then it becomes 20%.
so banner portion looks different in different pages. Height i have used in % because, in different resolutions of monitor it works well I don't want to use Frame.I am maintaining the banner separately in every page.

I created a .NET web set up project to deploy an ASP.NET application to Small Business Server(SBS) 2003, and I set the 'VirtualDirectory' to 'websetup1'. I would like to deploy 'websetup1' in 'Default Web Sites' on SBS 2003.
However, when I run the setup application on a SBS 2003, it deploys 'websetup1' in 'companyweb'. How can I deploy 'websetup1' relative to 'Default Web Sites'? Thanks.
I used to set the folder name (say 'app1') when running the web setup. But it always put the application in companyweb. I just tried the following-when setting the folder name, I used something like http://localhost//app1. Then I got what I want.
Hello folks! Is there any way of exposing all child controls in a composite control in the Visual Studio Designer? If my composite control consists of a label and a textbox, I would provide the ability for the page user to select either one of these child controls and set its properties. I have looked through the net 2 Designer classes but found nothing useful....
Hello Ista! Thanks for your reply. This exposes the hyperlink so that all its properties are accessible from the Property Browser. I would like to make it selectable in the Visual studio designer, even though its nested within the composite control. regards /Jonas
