I'm sure that we all hear about SpaceX and NASA, etc. and talk about them as well from time to time. Somehow though, I get the feeling that ISRO doesn't get as much "publicity", if I may. Just because these boffins are sitting in our own backyard, some of us tend to underestimate their world-class achievements.
The PSLV series rockets are crazy good (read up if you fancy it), if you've to go purely by its accomplishments and track record. I am VERY, VERY proud of this capability that India has built over the years, and of the awesome achievements it's leading us up to. In fact, all of us need to be proud of this.
Indeed. I wanted to respond, but then realized it would take an enormous amount of typing explaining the various challenges involved, then the types of visas, residencies, taxation, immigration, etc. if I've to be useful.
Then I wasn't so sure any of that's worth it, given the efforts "Member 12063711" is prepared to put in for their own sake.
Might as well post an one line enquiry about websites that allow people to become astronauts.
Sorry it was Nair. Think I remember him from the IPL FL.
A combination of not having Satellite Sports TV because of my current living arrangements and a lack of Fanatsy League, has resulted in my actual following of cricket being somewhat drastically reduced the last year. Couldnt even tell you the name of the new English Batsman that got a 100, or Balls first name, in fact I only remember his surname because of your post in the lounge.
Think I need to get Cricket back in my life somehow. Crave the 2010 World Cup when we'd discuss it in here endlessly.
Your right. we did invent it. we also invented football, rugby, golf and just about any other sport thats played internationally and everybody beats us at them aswell. With hindsight we should have done what the Americans did and invent sports so boring that nobody else wants to play them.
I guess its more to do with the TV scheduling, it's a big factor over here. TV companies have it written in the contract that England have to play 7 or eight tests every Summer with strong squads, which is why you dont get many English players in the IPL. That and our players are sh*t.
All the new comers for India are shining one after another, its a very good sign and sweet problem of captain about whom to pick in next upcoming test match.
Proper destroyed us x
First test was good fight and that prevented white wash. Missed the fighting spirit in english players except J.Root & that other player in middle order Bairstow or stocks. May be english team had bad opening pair, the last match centurion was good, your team missed him in earlier matches.
The long break is about to end and India will be playing under new fierce captain and with Yuvraj is back again to play against his favorite bowler(you read it correct). Looks like ODIs will be interesting.
You can have all the tools in the world but if you don't genuinely believe in yourself, it's useless.
I would like to take advise of fellow CP-ians in Maharashtra and/or its neighborhoods.
Can some one guide me if there is a bus or train service from Shirdi to reach Pandharpur on Friday night? There is a constraint that I would need to travel back from Pandharpur to Pune latest by Saturday midnight to catch my train to Chennai on Sunday early morning.
If Pandharpur is infeasible would an equivalent trip from Shirdi to Nasik/Triambakeswar or Bhimasanker be supplanted in place of the same?
Pandharpur is bit far from Shirdi, its around 280 KM. Shirdi to Nashik is only 87 KM and there are lot of buses to nashik from shirdi. Nashik is also a holy place where you can see below link Google[^]
