I think in a lot of domains, not just software, there are some more-or-less objectively bad solutions; but there are almost always several good solutions, with no one of those solutions being objectively better than the others.

Today, we're re-open-sourcing MS-DOS on GitHub. Why? Because it's much easier to find, read, and refer to MS-DOS source files if they're in a GitHub repo than in the original downloadable compressed archive file. For those still curious how the official file copy code looks
