It certainly makes it easier to refute Apple fanboys who don't understand that no-one bothers to hack Apple because no-one uses it not because it's "more secure". We can now remind them of the time Apple gave the root account an empty password

Do you use a laptop or tablet to take notes during school lectures or meetings? If so, you might want to reconsider pen and paper; there’s increasing evidence that using laptops during lectures decreases learning. "Rarely is the question asked: Are... is our children learning?"

Never take notes. They're worthless. Either you'll retain the information or you won't.

As intuitive as tablets/laptops are they still require attention to be used and a great deal of visual interaction. Jotting down notes is fare easier and can be done virtually reflexively and without watching.
If I take notes I give 90% attention to the lecture and 10% to the notes... with a laptop it's at most 50-50.

A pen is all well and good but will it tell you the result of last race at Newmarket or the latest cricket scores? Will it let you read your email? Will it let you watch cat videos? I think not.
People should think a little harder before making such sweeping statements about ... hang on, have you seen the story that's just come up about people having decreasing attention spans?

Been arguing this for a while now, I retain information from hand writing notes better than typing. Still hasn't helped me get hardware for transcribing said notes to any form that others can use. In fact the studies just cause heels to be dug in even more.
To be honest, I'm curious if it is because I grew up with pen and paper and will the same hold true for younger generations.
