In own actions yeah. The context (I didn't explained it correctly before) is corporate. There is a network created by one of the chairmans about culture@work and professional change of mind.
I am part of it and I do what I can as a speaker, moderator of groups helping other departments to improve processes, showing there are other ways of doing things and things like that...

Then, the best word I feel is "Suggestion", as in
"I would like to suggest these enhancements in our ways of working (aimed at addressing these pain points). Let's try these for a couple of weeks/months, and evaluate after that period".

The phrase "On the wagon" has an amusing history. To say one has fallen off of it is twisting things a bit. It originated in Louisiana, USA in the 1800s. During the Marde Gras celebration various areas would make a large community pot of gumbo. An important part of this was a group of people rode a wagon and on horseback around to all of the local farms and each of them one would contribute something for the gumbo. They would also pass around a bottle of moonshine at each stop. To be "on the wagon" meant someone had drank so much along the way they couldn't ride their horse anymore and they had to ride the wagon. To say one has "fallen off the wagon" is kind of a non sequitur to this story. It really means they were so drunk they couldn't even ride the wagon because being on the wagon was about excessive intoxication.

I recently wrote a tool primarily for my own benefit, as I long ago archived old shows of mine back when they were available on DVD and bluray, but the DVDs didn't necessarily survive all these years. (Many not available on streaming or I'd just stream)
I wrote a tool to go through and catalog my media with html, giving me a streaming-service-like interface to my media using static index.html files and such so it all works totally offline. That way I can browse on a trip or something where Internet is spotty or non-existent. It uses themoviedb.org's API to fill in things like show ratings, name, overview, still images, etc.
It got me thinking about my ethical obligations.
I thought about releasing it here, and I'm not sure I will, or if I do, I may cripple it.
The problem is, you could use it in tandem with a torrent client, and filebot to basically give you a much nicer way to pirate and organize what you downloaded, so much so that I fear that would actually be the primary use of my code.
And that got me thinking more broadly and philosophically about this issue.
So ultimately my question is where do you come down on the ethical responsibilities here from a philosophical standpoint - and I'm more thinking of this project as an example, but asking more generally? Am I obligated to say, cripple this project or otherwise not release it due to the piracy enabling factor? I don't know where I come down on this myself for sure, but I tend to lean toward me sharing some of that responsibility in terms of not enabling piracy even if my code wasn't intended for that.

Should Bjarne Stroustrup advocate for the removal of C++ as a language because it's commonly used to do bad things?
I would say 'no'. Bad people will always find a way to do bad things. That is not your responsibility. The only exception for me is the case where the ONLY purpose for the thing is to do bad. At the end of the day the real question is how you feel about it though - everything else is noise. You're the one that has to live with your decisions even if the only repercussion is self-imposed guilt.

I wouldn't have qualms about releasing it. It has legitimate uses, like what you're doing with it. If someone uses it unethically, you're not to blame. You could use your normal license and add a statement saying that torrent sites, or however broadly you want to word it, are excluded from the license, so they need to contact you to pay a monthly SaaS fee.

There are already products that do that. Pay a one time fee and stream just about anything.

If you don't want people using it for piracy, then release a crippled version.
