ØNew Exception by virang_21 Exception up = new Exception("Something is really wrong."); throw up; //ha ha It crack me up... JWhen an engineer dies by Xmen W.K. I dont know if this one was posted like 100 times before but it made me laugh. An engineer dies and reports to the Pearly Gates. Saint Peter checks his dossier and says, "You're an engineer you're in the wrong place." So the engineer reports to the Gates of Hell and is welcomed. Soon, the engineer becomes rather dissatisfied with the level of comfort in Hell; he begins to design and build improvements. Shortly thereafter, Hell has air conditioning, flush toilets, and escalators. Needless to say, the engineer is a pretty popular guy. One day, God calls Satan and says, "So, how are things in Hell?" Satan replies, "Hey, things are going great. We've got air conditioning, flush toilets, and escalators. And, there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next." "What! You've got an engineer? That's a mistake - he should never have been sent to Hell... send him to me." "Not a chance! I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him!" God insists, "Send him back or I'll sue." Satan laughs uproariously and answers, "Yeah, right. And where are you going to get a lawyer? He runs into his parents’ room, where his father comforts him. ‘Don’t be afraid of the thunder,’ he says. ‘It’s just a noise that God makes when someone tells a lie.’ ‘But why is it thundering now?’ asks the boy. ‘It’s the middle of the night and everyone is asleep.’ I know,’ replies father. ‘But it’s around this time that they start to print the newspapers.’ ØMore from George Orwell's Olympics by ChrisElston You're only allowed to link to their website if you are nice about them and their associates ØApologies to fans of coding horrors by Rob Grainger Sorry folks, but it looks like my regular contributions to the coding horrors (which I just noticed has changed name again). I finally left the old place, having struggled valiantly for 2.5 years. The new position seems a world apart - I've been allowed to choose between C# and VB.Net on the project I'm working on, I'm allowed to use whichever technologies I feel are best suited to the task at hand, and we don't get technical decisions foisted on us for reasons of company politics. Vive la difference. Oh, and for the first time in my development career I've signed on for a company that pays overtime. ØSometimes animals amaze me [modified] by Wes Aday Most probably do not remember, but I am down to 2 dogs now. 2 weeks ago my 6 year old Pom was playing and something happened (I never figured out what) that made him take off running to his bed were he stayed for a very long time. When he finally ventured out, I saw that he was limping. I took him to the vet and found that the little guy's leg had come out of the hip socket. Apparently he is just genically disposed for this condition. The horrifying part, for me, was the fix for this is not to put the joint back together but to perform surgery on the hip joint. Not only is surgery the "only" option but the preferred method is to cut off the head of the femur! Well I talked to a surgeon and he ageed that it was the best course of action so we went ahead and did the surgery. Had me worried for a couple of days. He wasn't eating but he bounced back. After a couple of days he was back to being his normal happy bouncy self. The surgeon gave me a list of things to do and what to expect during his rehabilitation and the dog has more than exceeded my expectations. The amazing thing to me is that just 5 days after this surgery, the dog is trying to use the bad leg, the surgeon said 4 weeks. Now that it has been a week and a half, he is walking almost normally. You can hardly tell he has a limp when walking and even leans on the bad leg when greeting trees. Hopefully I have many more years with my amazing little dog. ØI'm Fed Up by John Simmons / outlaw programmer I use Media Portal for our Home theater system. Well, I'm tired of the glacier-like pace their updates seem to require, the bloatedness of the code, and the endless plug-ins, and their complete lack of built-in codec support, so I decided to write develop my own system. My wife is in total agreement, and even bought us a 2nd MCE remote so I can use it at my computer for development and testing. I'm doing it with WPF and SQL Server, and have most of the niggly data acquisition issues resolved regarding sources for movie data (themoviedb, thetvdb, and freedb). Since we don't watch TV through Media Portal, a lot of the crap in that program is completely unnecessary on my HTPC. I'll be using LibVLC to play music and videos, and as a result, I might be able to eliminate most of the ancillary crap on the system that I installed trying to make stuff work for Media Portal. It won't be fancy, but it should at least work a little better and faster than MP. Wish me luck.

If memory serves me correctly both the Indian Men and Women teams are usually strong at the Olympics.
There was a time when Indian men hockey team was so strong that they were the winners in Olympic for two decades. But that was half a century back. Anyway they still are a strong team but winning a gold looks distant. Same is the case with women team.
I thought so because it is yesterday only when we lost a warm up match with GB.
I remember India Men being good in maybe 2000 or 1996? Maybe they knocked out GB and that's why I remember?
They are good in patches so sometimes they are even beating some very good teams. But over all performance is below par. It is after the 8 years that we qualified for the event. That itself tells the story.
