Because voting has basically become the ceremony of choosing the least stupid/dangerous/malicious/leering person. This is the least of the b@3$&*dly person who was elected. And apparently he's stupid enough to do this sort of crap.
In my opinion, Bangalore is over-hyped beyond belief. It's 4th world-ish in several places within Bangalore too. I currently am having to stay here only because I love my job. This place otherwise sucks stinky alsatian balls.
Bangalore was never expected to face off the kind of explosive development that it's gone through so far. It was never designed for that, and it cannot adapt to that unless the politicians do something about it, and let the city grow bigger instead of investing all the monies into a few selected areas and industries. For instance, if someone builds up a new IT park which is too close to the border of another state, they won't get a rebate of any sort, and worse yet the taxes they will have to pay will be multi-fold. What I don't understand is, how many IT parks can exactly be built into one tiny city without moving towards (even about 5 kms from the border) of another state? Our politicians are F***ing dolts beyond comprehension. But as long as they get all they want, they'll continue to do what they do.
The sewage system, the local transportation, water supply, availability of (or the ability to effectively produce) electricity, cooking gas supply, handling traffic, planning proper layouts of commercial and residential plots, and pretty much a lot more suck the same alsatian's you know what.
There are way too many colleges and universities in and around Bangalore, which means access to fresh talent to the companies (and the investors of companies). This has lead to growth so far, but God knows what is going to happen hence forth. The population is simply exploding (mainly because of people migrating into Bangalore for jobs from other cities).
But hopefully when sh*t hits the fan, I'll be far away, or have an umbrella of some sort.

JA bit of science by Espen Harlinn Miss Campbell was the science teacher of the first grade. In one of her classes, she was explaining the students all about magnets and demonstrated to them how they could pick up nails, pins and other bits of iron. At the end of the class, she wanted to make sure the students remembered what they had been taught, so she asked, "My name begins with the letter 'M' and I pick up things. What am I supposed to be?" A little boy in the last row raised his hand and said, "You're a mommy!" ØGood day today by ChrisElston IT Director has walked around handing out a company branded pen to all employees. I got two. In the morning 100000 generations of orcs had been fighting and what did they learn? They learned to deliberately be passive and let the fights end in a draw. They only meant business when they had the impression that they needed to do something for their ranking. This result is really interesting, because they actually evolved a non-selfish strategy for survival and meeting the fitness requirements with the least possible effort. The only problem is that this certainly is not an army worthy of Mordor. Tonight I'm going to show them what delaying will bring them. How about adding another orc with a whip to motivate them? ØAbominable discrimination against American bacon providers ! by BillWoodruff July 20: CNN: "Hogs feel drought's pinch" by Chris Welch. Fellow American Baconites, Are we going to just sit by and watch, as corn and soybeans, mere vegetables, get first-class treatment, and our sentient fellow-creature Noble Swine are mercilessly pinched, and treated like pigs ? Shall we not come up with some equivalent to the "Occupy" movement to protest this atrocity ? The target of our protest must, of course, not defame, or injure, the innocent corn and soybean crops, but, must be what we in Thailand refer to as the "invisible hands:" the behind-the-scenes financial master-minds who have control over the bought-and-paid-for corn-fed politicians who have also been seduced and bribed by the soybean kingpins. The fact that many of them may also be vegetables, mentally, must not deter us from seeking righteous redress ! Excerpt from the CNN article: "In many ways, the drought could prove worse for livestock producers than for farmers. For example, corn and soybean farmers have the option of buying federal crop insurance. Roughly 90% of Iowans take advantage of that — it doesn’t cover everything, but it helps get them by until next years harvest. But there is no equivalent federal insurance for livestock. So if hog or cattle producers can’t afford to purchase the higher priced corn feed, they’re essentially out of luck." Save our Swine, keep America obese ! best, Bill ØWhich technology are you researching / using at the moment? by Norm .net I'm looking at QR Codes. After an anguished sigh I look to see the cursor is flashing in the edit box, I type and bugger me the dammed thing doesn't work. Close and open the browser, same problem. So I point to the Chrome icon and tell her to use that one! Ah peace again! The only problem is that if we use the same browser it may be a little creepy, I have no interest in the sites she visits and have been told categorically that she is not interested in pron or CP.
