Create a video player using python

hello guys, i'am new to python,

i want to create a simple video player using python 2.7
i need these function for the video player
-----------------------------------------------------------
- play video
- pause video
- resume video
- stop video

any recommendation??

thank for your infomation, that is what i need, but i'am having problem that mplayer not found
i using ubuntu 12.04 do you know what is the problem??
i already install mplayer
