This is an article just to describe how to use WMI with Visual C++ 6. I had to do this for one of my projects and I finally came up with this solution. I hope this will be beneficial to others as well.

Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 10.00
# Visual Studio 2008
Project("{8BC9CEB8-8B4A-11D0-8D11-00A0C91BC942}") = "Using WMI", "Using WMI.vcproj", "{D19BF400-CC6E-44A6-9223-AF0C469B6D21}"
EndProject
Global
	GlobalSection(SolutionConfigurationPlatforms) = preSolution
		Debug|Win32 = Debug|Win32
		Release|Win32 = Release|Win32
	EndGlobalSection
	GlobalSection(ProjectConfigurationPlatforms) = postSolution
		{D19BF400-CC6E-44A6-9223-AF0C469B6D21}.Debug|Win32.ActiveCfg = Debug|Win32
		{D19BF400-CC6E-44A6-9223-AF0C469B6D21}.Debug|Win32.Build.0 = Debug|Win32
		{D19BF400-CC6E-44A6-9223-AF0C469B6D21}.Release|Win32.ActiveCfg = Release|Win32

	EndGlobalSection
	GlobalSection(SolutionProperties) = preSolution
		HideSolutionNode = FALSE
	EndGlobalSection
EndGlobal
