I'm trying to run an aspx application. But I get the error "Access to the path c:\\....\\sth.xml is denied." I have granted the asp group full control permission. where is the problem?

You only have access to the file system inside your application root, not through the whole system.

Then go ask the vendor. Don't ask for people to give you code around here unless you've tried something first and are asking for help.

I wrote an article on how to use authorize, because, while it's so trivial that if you can't work it out from the docs, you shouldn't be coding, it is a PITA to write, so I made my code available. If you can't read the docs, or use google, or search this site, you should NOT be writing code that needs to be secure with people's credit card numbers.

I'm assuming there has to be some property that needs to be set in order to display lets say to panels or divs right next to each other as oppose to vertically down.
I'm using a style sheet but I can also do it in the page itself. If someone knows can you please tell me how to set this up in both of these cases! I'd appreciate it

Use the float CSS property, i.e. float:left and float:right

Hello Mark,
I tried floats but it didn't quite work...what would I do inline. Also how do I move the entire panel away frmo the left margin of the page. I'm assuming the margin property should work, but apparently its not. Can you please perhaps give an example? I'd really appreciate it!

Alternatively you could put the panels inside a table. (Don't shoot me, I know about the drawbacks of using tables, but sometimes it's just easier IMHO)

i have many update panels on page and if i set view state of one update panel= false then would it set all view states = false of all controls in it??? automatically or i will have to set them all manually??

Setting the viewstate on one control does not affect another. However, if you set it at the page level it will affect all controls on teh page.

Hi There,
I have HTML Button. On Click of that button I want to save values from page into database. If anybody knows please help.
Thanks.

you can call __doPostBack function,
it works like an asp.net button.
Glad to discuss with you and best wishes.

Traditionally, you would wrap the button inside a form, and the button would actually be of type submit.
Then, the form values get POSTed to your server from which you can parse via the Request.Form object, and from there, simply insert into DB.

There are various way to implement it. Either you can pass it as query string or you can store it in session variable.

Buy a book on ASP.NET, and read it. Try reading the forum rules, too.
