Hi there
I have a page with a DDL which binds the data in the .aspx page rather than the code behind. It was all working nicely until I moved this page onto another computer - it was working on one with Visual Web Developer Xpress but now it won't work on Visual Studio 2005. I thought maybe it is because the versions of .Net are different. I'm a newbie so please don't patronise!
Here is a snippet of my code:
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<div>
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server"
ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:angell_eurosalesConnectionStringLocal %>"
SelectCommand="SELECT DISTINCT [BicCode], [Description], [BicCode] + ' : ' + [Description] AS CodeDesc
FROM [tblBicCode] WHERE LEN(LTRIM(BicCode))=1"></asp:SqlDataSource>
</div>
Please someone help me!

So you want the user to recieve the e-mail, then after they have recieved it you want to provide a prompt or cancel or save the document before they close the window?

Yes,
As per the functionality for downloading the document user must fill up a form containing his information. Once user fill and click on submit i m sending a mail to admin and downloading the document for user. When document get download Mozilla Firefox/internet explorer displays a prompt and ask user that he want to save document or just want to open. (like whenever we are downloading any file from server) once user done his action for document or after sending the mail i want to close that form (which is appearing in popup window).
Thanks

Hi,
When I open my website in different browsers Controls layout is not in a correct position....It looks good in internet explorer(6.0).......
Please help me as soon as possible........

Thats because browsers render css differently.
A webiste designed for IE might not look correct in Firefox.
This is mainly down to the fact that IE almost corrects your mistakes in your css code where as firefox doesnt.
You will just have to go through it and change parts to suit both browsers

mcmilan wrote: When I open my website in different browsers Controls layout is not in a correct position....It looks good in internet explorer(6.0)...
This is very common for a web site that is developed for IE. The CSS is written to depend on the rendering errors in IE, so it will not look as intended in any browser that renders the page correctly (which is pretty much all other browsers).
Here you can find a list of some of the rendering errors in IE[^].
First of all, make sure that you have a working doctype tag for the page, so that it renders in standards compliant mode, not it quirks mode.
I suggest that you build the page so that it works correctly in Firefox, then it will almost always look the same in other browsers (except IE). After that you can tweak the CSS to work for IE also.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Instead of response.write,use this line code
this.Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "key", "window.close();", true);

Hi All,,,
I am implementing Ajax in my project......I am using Ajax CalendarControl.
It is working fine...When I select the date from Ajax Calendar it is displaying in TextBox..But the problem is I am unable to access the TextBox value to the next page when I click the Button.
I want to use that TextBox date in next page.....
If I use normal asp.net calendar control then I am able to put the textbox value(date) in session and access in next page .....
I tried with sessions, Request.form(crosspage submission)....But no use...
Please help me to fix this problem....
Thank you,
Mcmilan.

I am creating a 5 star rating control. For this I have created a user control with the Callback functionality. When I implement the usercontrol on an aspx page, I want that the label control to populate the value of the image that was clicked. But, when I debug my application, it shows that the label control has the value and it does not show on the page. Following is the code I am using for the User Control:
public event System.Web.UI.WebControls.CommandEventHandler Rater;
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
sCallBackFunctionInvocation = Page.ClientScript.GetCallbackEventReference(this, "message", "ShowSuccess",
"context");
String callbackScript;
callbackScript = "function CallServer(message, context)" +
"{ " + sCallBackFunctionInvocation + ";}";
Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(),
"CallServer", callbackScript, true);
}
public void RaiseCallbackEvent(string eventArgument)
{
if (hdn.Value.ToString() == "" && (eventArgument == "0" || eventArgument == string.Empty))
{
returnValue = "0";
totChecked = returnValue;
hdn.Value = returnValue;
}
else
{
returnValue = eventArgument;
hdn.Value = returnValue;
totChecked = returnValue;
CommandEventArgs args = new CommandEventArgs("Rated", hdn.Value.ToString());
Rater(this, args);
}
}
public string GetCallbackResult()
{
return returnValue;
}
The following code is used for aspx page
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
rc1.Rater += new CommandEventHandler(rc_Rater);
}
private void rc_Rater(object sender, CommandEventArgs e)
{
RatingControl rc = new RatingControl();
lbl.Text = e.CommandArgument.ToString();
}
