According to this article: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ms235342.aspx
The manifest can be embedded in the binary, and therefore the external XML manifest is not necessary. I don't want to ship with the external XML manifest file, so embedding the manifest in binary is what I want.
I know how to check if the manifest is embedded in the binary, my question is: How do I MAKE SURE VS2005 embed the manifest in the binary. Does VS 2005 embed the manifest in the binary by default? Each build it generates an external XML manifest file, but the manifest is also embeded in the binary.
Also, in the Configuration properties -> Linker -> Manifest File, there is an option called "Allow Isolation", what does it do?
Thanks

There are other languages...
Seriosly though its been 4 years since I have done anything in any other language, which is odd because I used to scoff at that "evil managed code"...

Even more shocking is that apparently people program in languages that aren't C#, I'm not sure I believe that though....

IIUC, the manifest is embedded in the executable in its resources. You should be able to examine the resulting executable by opening it as a collection of resources and looking for the manifest file. There is a specific resource type (RT_MANIFEST , value of 24 ) that you can look for.
This is one way to "XP-ify" an executable built using VC++ 6.0 so that it uses the new common control's and functionality available on XP (like the Caps Lock warning on password -styled edit controls).
Peace!

I want to design a software which draw shape.
but the edge style of shape have more style, rather other
GDI pen defined style(PS_SOLID,PS_DASH..)
for example, I want to have a SOLID_DASH style,
it means one Solid line and one dash line combination.
when I use this pen style to draw line with mouse, the effect is
one solid line and one dash line together.
just like word , you create a line with lineType - two line, you will get two line effect.
this is what I want!

One thing you can do is that create a simple line and underneath / above that line (say oneor two pixel's up/down)you can create a dashed line at the same moment when you are creating a simple line. This will give the desired effect.
Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do it.

void draw(CDC* pDC){
int step = 0;
for(int i=0;i<pen.count();i++)
{
="" pen="" object="" is="" shape.spen="" instance
="" cpen="" gdipen(pen[i].linestyle,pen[i].linewidth,pen[i].linecolor);
="" cpen*="" poldpen="pDC-">SelectObject(&gdiPen);
pDC->DrawLine(startPoint+step,endPoint+step);
step+2; // for temp code
pDC->SelectObject(pOldPen);
}

I have an MFC application. I want to pop up outlook send message dialog with the data filled from my application.
For example: the mail id, Subject, CC, Body of the mail send dialog must be filled from my application
How i do this? Please shares idea/codes

You can create your own pop up window that you can show if the mail is sent successfully from your application. You don't need to depend on Outlook for that.Use MAPI functions to send the mail
