open ur project workspace , Right Click on right top(be sure that no control is present) and click on "Build".
From the newly added combobox, select "Win32 Debug".Now go to ur Project Menu->Settings->C/C++ -> Optimizations -> and select "Default"
Now go to Link(which is after C/C++) -> and tick "Generate Debug Info" and rebuild ur project!
now for debugging , put a break point wherever u need and click F5.

I find this happens a lot when i'm trying to debug code from an older version try rebuidling the project (as mentioned.. debug mode) then attaching the debugger again.

Hi to all,
I have written a query as follows, in my VC++.Net Project.
SELECT A.RegNo, A.Name, Format(C.CcOrderDate,'dd-MMM-yyyy'), C.CcOrderPeriod, Format(DateAdd('m',C.CcOrderPeriod,C.CcOrderDate),'dd-MMM-yyyy') FROM Table1 AS A, Table2 AS C;
To retrieve values of A.RegNo, A.Name & C.CcOrderPeriod, I am have written code as,
CString CellValue;
m_Rs.GetFieldValue(_T("RegNo"), CellValue);
m_Rs.GetFieldValue(_T("Name"), CellValue);
m_Rs.GetFieldValue(_T("CcOrderPeriod"), CellValue);
But how to retrieve values of other 2 columns?
Regards,

Will this work:
SELECT A.RegNo, A.Name, Format(C.CcOrderDate,'dd-MMM-yyyy') AS _date, C.CcOrderPeriod, Format(DateAdd('m',C.CcOrderPeriod,C.CcOrderDate) AS _period,'dd-MMM-yyyy') FROM Table1 AS A, Table2 AS C;
...
m_Rs.GetFieldValue(_T("_date"), CellValue);
m_Rs.GetFieldValue(_T("_period"), CellValue);

Hi,
I tried it. But it's also not working.
I chage
Format(DateAdd('m',C.CcOrderPeriod,C.CcOrderDate) AS _period,'dd-MMM-yyyy')
to
Format(DateAdd('m',C.CcOrderPeriod,C.CcOrderDate),'dd-MMM-yyyy') AS _period
But still it was not working.
Because when we use AS [Column Name], it's just a text to display the Column Title, but not Column Name.
So how to set Column Name in query?
Thanks & Regards,

My application crashes if I run it in release mode but when it try to debug in release mode it works fine. What could be the problem?

Enable debug information in the release build and debug it.

There are 3 tabs in my application. On opening the application the 3rd tab will be in focus. When i try to resize the tabwindow, 3rd will be in focus but the contents of 2nd tab will be displayed. After switching between the tabs the tabs will get refreshed. How do I solve this refresh problem?

How are you setting the default tab to the third tab at startup?

TCM_SETCURSEL does NOT cause a TCN_SELCHANGE message to be sent, so when you use
SetCurSel(), you are responsible for making sure the correct tab window is
positioned and shown within the tab's "client area".

A couple of weeks ago I enabled XP's automatic updates (it hadn't been upgraded since I installed XP SP1 a year ago). After the upgrade (XP SP2 and it also did some secuirty upgrade to my VS2005) I cannot build any of my code anymore. At first I got a bunch of errors, then I retarted my machine, at which point there was an error message on boot up that I've never seen before, immediately followed by an "automated" fix. Now when I try to recompile again it still doesn't work, but the errors are different.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\atlmfc\include\afxwin2.inl(424) : error C2448: 'CWnd::OnDropFiles' : function-style initializer appears to be a function definition
I can't find where HDROP is defined but the error concerning DragAcceptFiles is strange. afxwin2.inl calls this function with 2 arguments but it's defined in afxwin.h with only one. How is this possible? Were the header files changed during the updates?? If they weren't how did it EVER work?
Thanks.
