Do you mean the part about, if the economy goes down the drains, we can't pay for the hospitals any more and a lot more people are going to die?

And the people who live are out of money, can't pay their mortgage or their rent, have to visit the food bank and are overall just very stressed, tired and unhappy which leads to health issues and earlier deaths

At first, I was just replying to Jörgen's post, who's kind of a buzzkill so I just rolled with that.
Then you replied to me and I just told you, unrelated, I'm not a fan of Queen, which is also a bit of a buzzkill, but which came easy after Jörgen's initial buzzkill and my buzzkilling reply.
All in all this is turning into quite the buzzkill.
So let me just finish off by saying, yes, we shouldn't focus so much on the economy and instead focus a bit more on the things that matter.
When this is over, find a job closer to home, take the bike to work, talk to strangers on the subway, spend more time with your family.
The economy was booming, but we were all (generalizing) stressed out and slowly killing the planet.
Roll over economy, make room for happiness!

OK, then since it's not hysteria, and you genuinely, logically, and rationally believe that a few stockholders losing 10% of their unearned money (because everything else will be "business as usual" within a month or two) will result in hospital closures and massive amounts of death, how about we have a little bet on the side?
I'll go ten-thousand euros that not one hospital will close in the West because of the coronavirus.
Is that OK, or do you want to up the ante? I mean, it's not a hysterical rant that hospitals will close, is it? So you can't lose, and I can afford to. Works for everyone.

I don't give a sh*t about stock holders, but when companies are starting to go bankrupt a lot of people will lose their jobs. They won't be paying taxes anymore, but rather will be needing unemployment benefits instead. This is all money that could be used much better.
No I don't think there will be any physical hospitals closed. But when the economic realities are catching up with us, there will not be any excess money for any advanced medicines or equipment anymore.
That's what I meant with that we cannot pay for our hospitals any more. The buildings will certainly still be there, the personnel will mostly be there as well, but the care will be of lesser quality while we cannot pay for as much or as expensive medicine, or medical machinery.
A small reality check for you: Check how many people that is dying every year from cancer or cardiovascular deceases.
On a different note, I'm sure we will see social distancing for a very long time forward, and certain types of businesses will simply have to be sacrificed for now. For example tourism and restaurants.
But a shutdown of society that lasts for an extended time, will throw us into a downward spiral with a lot worse consequences.

And, as the guy in Argentina says, the economy can adapt and recover, but we can't bring people back to life.
Perhaps if it were members of your family who were at risk you would see a perspective other than "Being dead is better than being out of work for a while -- because if you're broke or out of work, things will never, ever get better, but if you're dead, things can only improve for you!"
How many people, when faced with a "Give me everything you own or I'll blow your brains out!" situation would choose the latter option?
Would you? Would you want your mother to?
So your scare stories about the all-important economy are indeed worthy of ridicule, and with me, you're often likely to get exactly what you ask for.
