I think there is no problem in the PM not making an exclusive statement about this. I'd much rather he do the far more important things.
However, I would also concur with the OP in that if this was a "minority religious institution" that was attacked, there would be a huge outrage against the PM for "not condemning the attack", which would eventually morph into "PM pushing the Hindutva agenda".
That said, any sick ***k that goes on to destroy any public property should be made to pay for the damages, and then locked up in a cell until they get their senses back, or several years (whichever is longer).

Sir, this was 100-year-old Temple that was Vandalised by mob from A PARTICULAR community, we have seen the history what happened when similar happen otherwise - at those times - 92 were killed in Mumbai in Serial blasts and 52 were burnt alive in Sabarmati express.

The way I see it, you're both making pretty good points, but are not on the same page. When the OP referred to "demands", he was referring to how the media reacts when the minority is in question (vs when the majority is being attacked, or their property/place of worship destroyed).
As in, the media steps in to demand something or the other from the government in one case, and plays it casually in the other.
Although it does look like he came after you, my belief is that he was referring to this mentality in general. I'm happy to be corrected though, as I've been wrong heaps of time more than I was right.
