It's the last long weekend of the Summer in Canada so we're all desperately soaking up whatever sunshine and warm air we can find before the glaciers and polar bears move in next week. There is an eerie silence around the office. With luck we'll be back at our desks tomorrow, sharing those sorrowful looks that mark the ending and the beginning. with luck.

Two big competitions are still running and while one is currently a spectator sport, the other is offering $25,000 as first prize. Please be careful as you race to your dev machine to get your entries in.

The Ultimate Coder Challenge is up to week 4, and I'll be posting my updates to Week 3 tomorrow. 6 devs, 6 apps in 6 weeks. And 4 of us judges making their lives difficult. What's not to love.

The Android competition is far easier on the nerves and simply requires
you to enter your game app, be it big or small, simple or complex, serious or frivolous. Every app that's entered has a chance at this prize.

You can't win if you don't enter. Go for it.

cheers,
Chris Maunder
