If you are using .Net 4.0 or older version, you can try using HttpUtility.UrlEncodeUnicode API.

Hi Maciej,

Yes, but this should be ok. The subquery removes the maximum and thus you get second max.

There is no direct impact of SQL DB rename on tables and schema specifically.

Personally, I would any day use a SP instead of inline queries in C# code. That's another topic how that SP would be implemented. Accepting data in one go or if is it called everytime in a loop.

Having said that, ORMs are more a buzz these days. And would be more handy to have L2S or EF do that for you.

Hi Bill,

Personally, I don't rely on the sorting on datalayer and remove any assumptions being made for sorting etc. in datalayer if I am using the logic in application layer.

Yes, agree that the datatable structure is not very clear.
Manas Bhardwaj 16-Nov-14 14:54pm View

+5.

However, You might want to sort the rows with familyId, serial number before iterating.

EDIT: Changing my vote to 4.

The concept would work but you always assume that SNoFather is 1. It might be correct for this dataset but isn't universal.

Manas Bhardwaj 4-Nov-14 16:50pm View

Hi SA,
I don't think the question was off-topic. However, the tags were which I changed for him.
I have seen with several organizations which don't have clarity about the licensing, especially the smaller ones which do not have a dedicated team or person to handle this.

It just then boils to down to development team to figure out and give the details so that someone can pay/buy the required software for them.
