this is the Method that you required to get you the index of an element in an array, you just need to give this method the element and the array as an input and it will return the index of the element in the array otherwise it will return -1.. for not finding.. hope it will work with you man..

i did exactly what you are telling me from the beginning but the problem is that when i put the code in a separate page it works, but when i include it in the page that has a master page it doesn't work...

but that's not the way cz SolvedDropDownList.SelectedItem is read only that means you can't assign values to it.. i tried this also...

thank you, but it wouldn't work because you are using RowCommand and i am using linkButton_Click.
