SnagIt by TechSmith ... it's a great program ... used it for years to create my user docs ... https://www.techsmith.com/. There is a free version but I bought it myself.

I gave "read" access to "Everyone" for both the Views and Home sub-directories but that didn't work either. I'm out of ideas.

Never mind guys ... I reinstalled Windows and my development environment. It was a two day struggle but everything is working now. I sure would have liked to know what happened. Now I just created a disk image of the C drive and can initialize back to a stable environment if Windows Update begins to get squirrely again.

Damn ... I gave accolades prematurely ... I did as you suggested and it appeared to work on one form then the problem came back. When you say 'disable' do you mean to close the window? I went to the menu option you suggested and selected 'Document Outline' but the only thing that did was to close the Document Outline window.
Sorry if I'm being dense.

OH MY GOD!!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the development environment. I transferred the entire project to my backup development machine and the files are perfectly OK. Last night I upgraded the entire Windows OS to the newest version (at the behest of MS as my last version was going past the support window). That just CAN'T be the problem ... can it?

I installed SmarterPing (http://www.smartertools.com/Products/SmarterPing/Default.aspx) and set it up to ping my website every 10 minutes. The installation was not without events though. I had to set it up to emulate Windows 7 and to run the .exe as Administrator. Thanks so much to all of you for offering your insights. There is one problem with using the application though. It is no longer supported by SmarterTools. If you have a problem you are on your own. I'm glad I figured it out as my first attempt to install the application failed.
Thanks!

I think this solution should work just fine ...
Changing IIS to Not Stop Worker Process in IIS 7.0+
I'll keep this thread updated with regards to this possible solution.

I found it ... by mistake I found that calcs is depricated and icalcs should be run instead. Here is the command line that worked for me:
ICACLS c:\windows\system32\inetsrv" /INHERITANCE:e /GRANT:rwcf Crucible:F /T /C
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Nothing I've tried is working ... sooooo ... I'm going to uninstall and re-install StrataFrame on the newly upgraded Windows 10 machine, execute the VSIX instructions and see where we go from there. If that doesn't work then there is some incompatibility with StrataFrame and Windows 10 so it's back to re-installing Windows 7.1 Pro (worst case). I'm testing the process on a VMWare machine to see if a new installation in the proper order fixes the problem:
1. Install Windows 7.1 Pro and patch it.
2. Install Visual Studio 2012 up to Patch 5 (I believe)
3. Upgrade to Windows 10 (if it is even possible to update from 7.1 ... might only upgrade from 8.1 ... dunno) and patch it.
4. Install StrataFrame and follow VSIX instructions.
5. Open project and see if it builds and behaves properly
Thanks George for notifying me of how to place comments ... I wasn't paying attention.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply:
Answer 1: A brand new WinForms application (not a StrataFrame) application allows all visual controls in the Common Controls toolbox to drop onto the form as expected. The only ones that do not were the ToolTip and the NotifyIcon which I believe is normal behavior. What makes VS 2012 determine when to drop a control onto the top design surface or the bottom non visual design surface?
Answer 2: StrataFrame was already installed when I upgraded to Windows 10. All I had to do was to recompile all of my StrataFrame libraries and my applications "ran" perfectly, but the design surfaces were whack. I wasn't using VS 2015 at the time so I never tried to install SF within that. I was using VS2012 with SF already installed (to beat a dead horse ;-)).

Hah hah! After the fifth call, I gave up ... hence my post here. As a matter of humorous interest, the guy that was helping me was reading posts from StackOverflow to me! I knew it was over right then and there.
Ryan:
I had a feeling that the answer to the question is "You can't ..." ... the only way I see to solve this is to migrate to a dedicated server. Or, parse the data into manageable query sizes, but then, referential integrity would make that a bit too complicated ... the records would have to insert in the proper parent-child order.
Oh well ... thanks for your time ...

Ah crap! I figured it out ... there was an error in my base class that was preventing all child objects from instantiating in the designer ... once that was cleared up the property appeared right where it should have. Sorry to have bothered you all!

Here is the property and my attempt to resolve the problem ... didn't work ... I'd like to see the property FillAllStoredProcedure in the properties tab.
namespace Crucible.Business
{
[Serializable()]
public partial class BaseBusinessLayer : BusinessLayer
{
protected childBOLoader _childBOs = new childBOLoader();
protected string fillAllSQLStatement = "SELECT * FROM @tableName";
[Category("Crucible: Actions")]
[DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)]
public String FillAllStoredProcedure
{
get
{
return (System.String)fillAllSQLStatement;
}
set
{
fillAllSQLStatement = value;
}
}

This is what I finally ended up with ...
public BaseBusinessLayer getBO(Func<BaseBusinessLayer> factory)
{
BaseBusinessLayer newBO = factory();
string boName = newBO.GetType().Name;
_childBOs.AddBO(boName, newBO);
return _childBOs[boName];
}
