Hi, I have been programming in C/C++ for the past 10 years. I want to move on to Windows Programming but I am not sure which programming language to choose. Please help me.

Okay... well you could choose C++ or you could choose C# or you could choose VB or you could choose F# or you could even choose java... seeing a pattern here?

That is going to greatly depend on what it is that you are going/want to do. If your goal is to write device drivers or embedded stuff then C is just about your only choice (although C++ and .NET are not out of the question for that either just rare). If you are going to write games, the C++ might be the way to go. Most of the job opps that I see want C# people. You could even write Windows apps in assembly if you want.

In most situations, you can effectively use all of the Microsoft programming languages. Nevertheless, each programming language has its relative strengths and you will want to understand the features unique to each language. The following sections will help you choose the right programming language for your application.
