I'll check with my secretary exactly how many forks I give about 16 or 32 or 16384 rep points.
Oh wait, I don't have a secretary... time to find one, apparently. Hold the line!

It's not just about rep points - if multiple abuse reports are submitted against you, your account can get automatically disabled. Probably not an issue for you since you are not using your real name, and can thus create another anonymous account similar to the one you have now.

Nish Nishant wrote: if multiple abuse reports are submitted against you, your account can get automatically disabled AFAIU it works if multiple abuse votes get to my account (not my posts) from different sources. 100 Abuse reports from a single user would just bring my rep down of (his_weight * 100) points.
And if a post has less than 5 abuse reports it stays visible. Either someone kicks on 5 sock puppets and then forfeits all of his accounts to the banhammer or the damage is NIL.
Nish Nishant wrote: Probably not an issue for you since you are not using your real name I use my internet name (cured with the 88 suffix because 5 letters usernames are too short) since 2000, I'd feel bad abandoning it. For me it's as personal as my real name now.

only -16? If it weighted, I think that person does not have much report power. It kinda suck because they didn't give you a chance to defend or correct your mistake. Last time I posted a blog and someone with very high report power down voted it, and that -40 points. Again it suck because I don't know what the issue was, and I don't have the opportunity to rectify it. Sometime I don't see how this down vote WITHOUT comment will help the community or the author/poster. At least give them a chance to fix the issue !!!

While answering at QA I run into a code formatting problem for PHP code which is also present here in the forum.
Code I was going to show (HTML encoded source to be pasted 'as-is' and then formatted):
$loginerr = <<<EOT
<html>
<head>
<title>Login error</title>ds
</head>
<body>
<p>Error in username or password.</p>
</body>
</html>
EOT;
echo $loginerr;
exit;
When pasting the above and formatting it as PHP, any text after the first closing tag is not shown:
$loginerr = <<<EOT
<html>
<head>
<title>Login error</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>Error in username or password.</p>
</body>
</html>
EOT;
echo $loginerr;
exit;
The only solution was to format the code as plain text:
$loginerr = <<<EOT
<html>
<head>
<title>Login error</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>Error in username or password.</p>
</body>
</html>
EOT;
echo $loginerr;
exit;

I've been working on this all weekend and in doing so I've found a fundamental problem with our colouriser that will probably require a full rewrite.
I'm happy I found the issue, depressed it's there, happy I get to rewrite it (I've wanted to for a while), frustrated that it needs a rewrite (I have no time!), happy that I get to add some new features, frustrated that...
Ah - to be a developer...

Not sure if it only me or is there a new rule out there. I noticed it maybe 2-3 weeks ago, points are no longer being awarded for editing a question (under Quick Answers).

Hi. I've posted my article exactly February 1, 2017 0:18.
And just a few minutes ago, I've noticed that my article's post date has changed back to January 31, 2017.
Also my article was not included in the previous daily build newsletter.
Can you tell me, what is the reason for updating my articles post date ?
Thanks.

My bet would be something to do with time-zones.

Yes, I really posted my article Feb 1, 2017. But today I've noticed that when I'm not logged in, my latest article in the list of articles[^] is marked as posted Jan 31, 2017.
Can you correct this ?

I can't. You'll have to wait for the hamsters to wake up.

The dates you see on the site are relative to your timezone. You'll probably see different times depending on whether you're logged in or not.

We're currently doing a fairly major update so some systems will be a little dodgy for a few minutes.
