Funny, it's there for me. Have you tried scrolling up or zooming in and then scrolling?

Which flavour of Android? On 4.0 it's working for me. Just tap the Sign-in link at the top right and the sign-in dialog opens.

I'd never noticed the FAQ button beside "New Message" in the Lounge before - good idea.
So I had a quick look at the FAQ.
Um. It might be an idea to update it so it matches the forum layout?
For example:
4. What does the 'View' drop-down mean? Can I view just the message thread headers instead of all messages?
The view dropdown provides you with different options for viewing messages: There is no "View" drop-down - it's now "Layout" - and the options it goes on to talk about have mostly been superseded.

When searching for messages, I get some results from 2004 and 2005. Clicking on them takes me to the first page of the Lounge and not the page in question. If these pages aren't meant to be accessible anymore, they shouldn't appear in the search results. Otherwise, this is a bug.
Also, it appears clicking on them switches my view from Noraml to Open All.

It has always been thus, and I am sure a reason has been given, that no doubt will be given again by someone who knows what they are talking about.
IIRC it is something to do with fetching the real result taking too long so it gives up and just gives you the first page instead.

Hence my comment. If it can't fetch it, don't display it. CP shouldn't tease us like that.

Yeah - it's a load issue, and yes, we should fix it. One way or another.

Why can't existing articles be added as alternatives to other ones? Would be a nice feature

Interesting idea.
Do you have a specific example?

I don't get it.
When clicking 'Alternative' i do not see how to add an existing article. The only option i have is
'Add your own alternative version' which starts the editor. How do i add an existing article (not necessarily my own) as an alternative?
Second, it would be great to see immediately how many alternative articles are linked. Like the 'Revision (3)' link does. It shows the number in parenthesis.

When answering a question please:
Read the question carefully.
Understand that English isn't everyone's first language so be lenient of bad spelling and grammar.
If a question is poorly phrased then either ask for clarification, ignore it, or edit the question and fix the problem.

This is the caption i found in code project. But one person insulted me when i asked a single line question.
Is this insulting is allowed in code project????

I'd expect that; customers ask single-line questions, a (aspiring) developer should be able to describe a problem, the expected result and the actual result, if possible in an unambiguous way.
Meaning, if you post a simple one-liner, people will see a question without any effort. Since the site is visited by volunteers, we help where each of us thinks is best. Some of the questions here are merely fishing for code, without putting in any time of their own - you can guess that most people are here to "help others", not to do others people work. It's fun if you can solve a problem, less fun if you're just doing someone's work.
Next time, add in a sentence describing what you're doing, what you tried, what you expected. I'll bet you a banana that you'll get better responses.
What was your question about, if I may ask?
Manjuvijayan wrote: why this thing is deleted???????????????????
You can vote on any post here. If enough people mark something as "spam", "abuse" or similar, it is deleted by the system.
Manjuvijayan wrote: i felt very bad yesterday.... becoz i'm a fresher in dotnet and newer to this site
Don't. It's not personal, merely a reaction of the audience. Post something different, you'll get a different reaction.

From what I can gather from your other posts on this topic, it looks like you responded in kind. I'm sorry, but you have insulted the other poster as well, so you haven't exactly embraced the spirit of the thing you quoted either, have you?
Manjuvijayan wrote: why this thing is deleted??????????????????? Who deleted???????
The only thing I can see any evidence of deletion is your comments in reply. I can only assume they were deleted because they were deemed to be excessively insulting.
You might want to read this[^] article to get an understanding of what people expect from questions in forums - follow the guidelines and you should avoid people attacking your questions.

I've not seen your original post.
But:
I've seen you've posted this same post as a question in the Q&A forum. This is crossposting and it is not welcome.
Don't take things personally.
This is a "democratic" system were people vote (up/down). If your post have been deleted probably it deserved it.
Try to be specific when asking, give a good description of the problem, code snippets, ... make good questions and you will get good answers.

I assume that this is the post in question[^] and your 'question' was:
quote: I want to hide a button in datagrid unless specific text is in another cell.
Plz help That is not very informative, maybe you should think a bit harder about what problem you are trying to solve before you post. Saying "I want to ...", will always lead to the sort of answer you saw.
One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

It looks like you have had comments deleted, unless n.podbielsk has replied to himself. My guess is someone with a high reputation score found your replies unacceptable. AFAICT n.podbielsk's comments, while slightly sarcastic, were not abusive.
Questions such as yours are very common on this site (and others). You, as a Questioner, have responsibilities too:
- You must give a full explanation of what it is you tried, and what isn't working
- If you are having problems getting started and can't do the above, state that you are having problems with this. Only do this after you have exhausted Google as a possible source of help.
- Read the various pieces of guidance on this site about how to ask a question. You managed to find the guidance about answering one easily enough
Pretty much everyone here is a volunteer. If you ask short questions, especially ones where there is no evidence (you may of course have spent hours on this, we can't tell) of effort your part, then members here will assume you just want your work done for you. If this is the case people will post replies such as n.podbielsk's.

This idea is based on my response to comments in another thread.
It was recommended to elevate this to its own thread.
Significant part of comments (Peter_in_2780) in other thread:
I was somewhat p****ed off this morning by a noob. (At least I think it was, the evidence is gone now.) Late last night my time he asked a "why does this blow up" question with a 50-odd line chunk of code in it and the error message. So far so good.
I spotted a probem about 10 lines from the top, and pointed it out in a comment. My intention was to convert the comment to an answer if it looked OK in the light of day, and any received comments.
I received two comments (according to the emails), one saying "good one. convert to solution" and the other from OP saying "that was it. solved"
OP then DELETED the question (with comments) so it can't go down as solved.
My reply:
Perhaps there should be a set of conditions where the OP is allowed to delete the question. If not met, they can only request it be deleted by someone with sufficient "authority". I don't know what the conditions should be... ;)
