Hello!
Some times while programming we must face some math issues that need a solution.
Sometimes it is an easy thing, sometimes it is much more complicated.
With a user base of more than 12 million of ians, I'm sure this need is present and that could help a lot.
I've found myself searching for solutions in my field and sometimes it is really hard to find the right resource of information/knowledge.
Well, keep up with the good work and thank you for this place.

The problem related to Mathematics, that can be or are solved by programming — Math libraries, Mathematical programming languages such as R etc, — are already welcome here and I personally myself have learnt a lot of concepts from articles here.
But since, this is a programming site, I don't think pure Mathematical explanation would be of any use here. Now, to your problem,
Quote: Some times while programming we must face some math issues that need a solution. There are already more than 4 libraries that I have personally used in my own projects that I can think of, the libraries that particularly target mathematical models, concepts and algorithms in computer science. Be it, statistical regression, be it machine learning, be it image processing (which requires a complex matrix manipulation), or anything, you can get the code easily.
For example, go to Accord.NET, and tell me what algorithm you cannot find a solution for in there. There are various others, now for the tough part. I understand what you meant to say, you meant to say that the mathematical concepts should also be explained here, a short answer would be, "it will drive the site off-topic", and a long answer would be. No article can explain a mathematical concept unless you try it out yourself.
I was taught simple Calculus in my college and I didn't understand anything about the derivatives or integrations, now I am in University and I am learning it now, just because of the fact that I learn it by experience now, I don't read books, or listen to my teacher for what he is going to tell me. Programming can be learnt really easily, mathematics, you bet your... Whatever might be put at stake bro.
Besides, you can get a hint of what a function does from Wikipedia, or your mathematics textbook. They are far from better, then you have to learn it for yourself. Mathematics, is something that no one can teach you, and there are very less people who can, and they are not on CodeProject.
Don't take any of this personally, I didn't mean to disappoint you, or discourage you, there are majorly two problems with this: 1) that is off-topic stuff, 2) there are libraries available, and those libraries are already written about on CodeProject.

In very very short: For near everything a library is available so nearly all stuff here is off-topic according your Definition

No, abstract Mathematics explanation is off-topic, Mathematical libraries, how they work, their algorithms being implemented in Python, C++ or other stuff, are all on-topic, welcome and already available on CodeProject.
I mean, imagine being taught Algebra or Trigonometry basics on CodeProject.

My preference is to use the Algorithms and Recipes[^] section for these sorts of discussions.
As much as I'd love a mathematics section (it's what I was in a former life) it's off-topic enough that it would probably be better served as part of a different site.
cheers

Hello Chris,
I've just visited the section... (you won't believe it after this amount of years and I still didn't know it existed...)
Anyway, I've seen it is a subsection of articles... If I do need to ask a question about an algorithm that would include some math inside then I still don't know which is the right place to ask (as it looks like I can't ask there).
Should I use the Quick answers?
Thank you!

Thank you!

Maybe have a look to: Discussion Boards[^] ?

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Since yesterday (about 12 hours), I keep getting filters activated in QA.
Every time I come on the site, I have to clear the filters.

Me too, they seem to be populated with random tags.

Forum layout keeps changing also.

And the left hand div in Articles seems to be getting messed up.

My "fluid layout" keeps dropping off, and I can't find anywhere to nail it down. Seems to vary from forum to forum, not consistent (or at least I can't see the pattern!)
Cheers,
Peter

It's also happening to me: the number of posts keeps resetting to "25", and the spacing to "Relaxed" from my defaults of "50", and "Compact".

From a previous thread here, Spam/Abuse votes also count as a downvote.

Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

I believe the votes are weighted, the more rep the person has, the larger the point deduction.

You called someone a bigot. Don't be surprised that someone voted you as abusive. You could have made your point without being offensive. As it is, you have no right to the moral high ground here. Your post was abusive so someone voted it as abuse.
