I originally used the wrong account (David-Cunningham instead of DavidCunningham) so I updated the post.
Can you please forward me the email? I'm guessing it's sent the link with the "www.codeproject.com" bit missing.
cheers

Hello, I opted in into some CP newsletters, and other than incrementing my rep points I saw that my Visitor points dropped by 100 points, all with no event in the rep log.
Is that a bug or a feature?

Let say there is an article with 58 votes and 4.88 rating. I am voting this article with 5 stars. When I click to five star it looks there are 59 votes and the rating is updated as expected. But when I refresh the page my vote is gone. Again, there are 58 votes and old rating.
What Am I missing?

Is there any "default licence" for source code if licence was not defined by author?
I've used some code from a very old article (over then 10 years) and there is no licence defined:
"This article has no explicit license attached to it but may contain usage terms in the article text or the download files themselves. If in doubt please contact the author via the discussion board below."
The last message from author was in december 2007.
And now our release is blocked because of missing licence

Unfortunately there is no default license. This is why we push so hard to ensure everyone has adequately licensed their code.
Which article? I can try contacting the owner.

In the home page of CP, at the upper right corner is the "Our Community" block where the newest post of the Lounge, the insider news and so on are listed.
I guess this will only happen with the lounge, because of the high posting rate. If the starting message of a thread is not in the first page of the loung anymore, clicking on the link in "our community" brings you to the first page of the lounge without a selected message (it seems as it would have been deleted). If you go to the next page(s), then it moves you to the expanded message in question when you reach the page where that thread is. I have seen this behaviour with messages up to page 4 (there usually are new threads incoming, so the "our community gets updated)
Not so important.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

I just noticed in the member profile page, just above the top right of member image, you have added a bookmark member button.
Other than adding this to the things you have bookmarked, does it do anything else, e.g. notify you if the user has posted a new article etc? (if not can you add that as a feature)
Cheers,

Where's my guilty-look icon?
Adding a "watch this member" was a feature we almost had complete but used the wrong methodology and it was too slow. We can actually do it very quickly now, but haven't had the time to implement it.
However, yes, it's on our list.

I just noticed that the Q&A list does not show the solved tick for those questions where my solution was accepted.

Can you show me an example? I'm looking at QA and seeing lots of questions with ticks besides them.

I think he means that if his solution is the accepted one, then the question does not show a tick. (If you already figured that out, then sorry).
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

I see ticks too. But not for those questions that has been answered by me and got accepted as solution. When I go to the list of answers on my profile page, the tick is shown. I will send you a mail with a screen shot.
[UPDATE]
Another answer (How Can I Mask A Password With '*****' In Unix Using C++?[^]) has just been accepted and is shown with a tick mark. It seems that only answers from a limited time period are affected. So you should not spend too much time in the investigation.

Hi,
example: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Articles/ArticleVersion.aspx?waid=149272&aid=842542[^]
it was a blog and was changed unadvertently to article with an edition. It is not the first time it happened. I have checked with a tip/trick and the editor has taken the current type of the post into the edition window.
It is easy to oversee it when one is focused with the content, specially if it is supposed to get the current type pre-edition into the selected type. I don't think that the CP-editors make such error or change it on purpose, so I suppose that there is something happening with the type of the contributions when being edited.
