Yeah I think you were right. Today I received almost all the emails from last week so I guess they might have triggered the spam filters and blocked the emails.
Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks!

But open the question in a separate tab, and the solution is there OK.
I can live with it, but it's going to confuse/annoy newbies.

It appears that Chris’ last deploy fixed this issue. “Works on my machine” 🥴

Addendum to the thread below: the "code" and "var" widgets don't work either.
"code" just removes the highlight and fails to add pre tags.
"var" tries to leave the page instead of adding code tags.
I'll try it again, and see if it posts the message: var this, baby: var
[edit]It didn't tag it, it posted the message. This is going to some people right off ...[/edit]

I am experiencing the same.
Plus, when I click Post Message widget, I get a warning just as if I tried to leave the page without committing.
|
|
|
|
|
All the six font style buttons appear to be connected to "Post Message", the remainder to Leave Site. Something has got disconnected badly overnight.
[edit]
After adding the above text, everything appears to link to Leave Site. And when I selected Leave, the message got posted.

I think it appears to be something wrong with the JavaScript. The problem also happens when you try to click a message on this thread to preview, ends up reloading the page with that message as default.
Now that I am posting the message, instead of posting the message says, "Changes you have made would be lost."
Turns out that a JavaScript crash causes the page to reload, before the post back could be ignored. This is the error message @Chris-Maunder,
Uncaught ReferenceError: forumCtrl_ctl00_MC_Suggestions is not defined
at HTMLDivElement.onclick (VM350 suggestions.aspx:519) Maybe it would help you in debugging the error. There were no 404s, so I am guessing perhaps something else is causing the issue and not a script download issue.
And please, for future modules, add event.preventDefault(); as the first line of code.
Note that while I am writing the message, I am also getting,
RefreshPreview is not defined
at UpdatePreview (Edit.min.js?2.8.191018.1:1) So more or less, hamsters got you bad this time!
As for the pre or code elements, the issue is somewhere with, editor_ctl00_MC_ContentText , same problem.

Yep - that was a good idea turned bad. A bunch of optimisations we did, which worked really well for the pages we checked, and really bad for the pages we didn't, have been rolled back.

Have a look here: Spammers from moderation queue (Jonesam), and spam setup (asitha32)[^]
When I posted that link the first time, I got blank space.
The second time, It worked and I got the "proper" link complete with correct title.
But ... I'm trying to fix the link in that link to the spam setup question, and ... it won't.
[edit]Finally, about the tenth try, it worked[/edit]
The original post just gave me the link URL. So I highlight it, and click the "[^]" link converter. I get "do you want to leave this page?" Cancel, and try again. Same thing. Copy to clipboard, paste into Notepad ... try again. "Leave" - message posted.
Edit it - same thing: it gets posted.
Try in Chrome and Edge: same problem.
Let me try the link here: https://www.codeproject.com/Answers/5248878/How-to-fix-an-unidentified-USB-device
(Spinner, then just the URL).
Try again:
(Blank)
And again: How to fix an unidentified USB device[^]
(Correct link).
I'm confused...
And now when I press "Post message", I get the "Leave site?" message from Chrome.
Try again, same thing, click the "Leave" button, and it posted it.
Edit it, same thing, "Leave" posts the changes to that as well.

Had some trouble following your descriptions, but then I suffered from pretty much the same experience when trying to post comments with links in this forums: first posting, copy-pasted a link, and it was left as plain text. Second posting: copy-pasted a link in exactly the same way, but this time it was converted to a working link - only the text of the link is missing Oh well, at least you see where it points to at the bottom of the browser window when hovering over the [^] ...

Hi there,
since yesterday, I cannot navigate between forum posts with Ctrl+right, Ctrl+down, etc anymore.
I restarted my Windows 7 Prof X64 machine in the meantime (and installed an update), but to no avail.
Browser: Firefox 69.0.3 64 bit
Ctrl works in Ctrl+'+' or Ctrl+LMB.
Up and Down work, too. But not combined.
What can have gone wrong?
[Edit]
Since the last Firefox update to v70 half an hour ago, shortcut navigation has started working again.

An interesting bug. The Ctrl+arrowkey works, but only if the currently selected message is expanded. If it is collapsed, it does nothing. I'll put it on the list of things to drive me crazier.

I'm on the same browser, Win10, and the keyboard shortcuts are all working fine for me.

This could be amusing:
Do you think Windows is:
1. An operating system
2. A really complex application
I like the simplicity of that, but it could be extended to, for example:
3. A hybrid OS and application
4. Neither! Why can't it be like Linux where the UI is separate from the OS?
|
|
|
|
|
Interesting.
What's the goal of this one? To understand user's perception of how they look at OSs in general, or how they view Windows vs other OSs, or to get a feel as to whether developers actually understand what an OS is / is meant to be?
cheers

Down know if it's just me, or Firefox, or both, but the box containing "Latest posts", "Latest comments", "Latest news" doesn't seem to be working.
It load for a while, and then "No messages found"...

Which web page are you referring to?

I was referring to the Lounge, but I was sure that the box was located on other pages as well.
Anyway, now it's working again. Strange...

Sorry about that. Looks like the last option was not added. Survey nuked and new survey in place.
