You'll have to wait until one of the employees of CP comes along and notices this thread. But we are trying to help you make your request clear. Clearly, you can login or else you couldn't post. So, to be clear, the email you posted in the first post is different than the one you are posting with now?

You are not sure of getting this account back. I'm not from the staff, so I do not have any role in the decision process; but you should know that in the past, staff members have been trying to demonstrate comprehension towards offenders (first time, didn't know, etc.), and that it did not prevent these offenders from trying to post plagiarized content later on. So now the general behaviour towards plagiarists is more 'Don't do it, never, or your account will be closed without any possibility to get it back'.

This article is still in the moderation queue after 14 hours:
14 "Plagiarised", 2 "Extremely poor quality", 2 "Spam", and 1 "Unclear of incomplete"
This is it's second visit to the mod queue, and the user was kicked out around four or five hours ago from what I can see.

Now on 23 and still in the queue.
What is even weirder is that I do not appear in the reporters' list (neither do you); and I'm sure I've been reporting that one.

We've just been pushed off the bottom of the list - you can match up the users with the pixelated version and you'll see what I mean.

Working on it. Gives 30 minutes or so.

Due to my fat fingers, this took a little longer than I thought.
It should be OK now. Give it another try.

I'm busy tracking down a bug that occasionally occurs when viewing some articles.
This is a result of code to make our images more responsive and optimized as part of our push to speed up the loading and rendering.
You will love it when its fully enabled.

It should work now.

For ones own erroneously posted items that should be in the Soapbox rather than the lounge, would that not be a reasonable privilege to be made widely available?
I suppose it would depend upon how the replies are linked to the OP and one another, but I'm pretty sure they'd be linked by reference and moving the top would move the thread.

True, now, but the corollary power - that one may move one's own posts to other forums may still be a useful feature.

When I read through a posted article, I'll also poke through the comments and feedback left by others. Any time I select a thread and expand it, I go to the top of the article. If I want to go back to the comment list, I "Select All Threads" and it pops me back to the top of the article.
For as long as I've been on CP, it has done this. And it's tedious. And it makes me think I'm missing a setting somewhere?

Doesn't happen for me.
Things to check:
- Any errors in the browser console?
- Do you have an ad-blocker enabled?
- Which browser and OS?

Interesting, so there is hope. I'm running Windows 10 Professional 64 bit, and the behavior is the same on Firefox, Chrome and Edge.... It's why I was hoping there was some setting I was missing. The Lounge behaves properly. Chrome says this:

The resource https://k4z6w9b5.stackpathcdn.com/v2/22b793ff/shrMain.min.js was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window's load event. Please make sure it has an appropriate `as` value and it is preloaded intentionally.
I see no errors.

I suspect the page may be reloading due to a Javascript error. But by default, the browser console clears the errors when the page reloads.
In Firefox, there should be a "persist logs" option on the console tab. Try ticking that and then clicking a link to see if you can see the error details.

Well with the tools enabled in Firefox, I have this little red box on the bottom right counting away.... Persist logs shows:

fwiw, I get the same behavior on Safari on my Mac.

yes (just tested it in Firefox). fwiw, I normally run with thread view. In a brief flash of intelligence, I changed the layout to normal, and the page no longer navigates to the top. Setting it back to thread view restores the "go to top" behavior.
hope this helps.

The menu items for Insider News and Soapbox aren't links, and I have to use the Discussions | All Message Boards... to get to them. It happens in Chrome, Firefox and Edge on both Windows and Linux. There doesn't seem to be any pattern indicating when it's going to happen.

We have a piece of code that loads up the location of a bunch of forums dynamically, both from the local and distributed cache with a fallback to the database. As an absolute the-world-has-ended solution with lots of warning signs over it, the IDs are hardcoded in a piece of code that should only be called in dire situations. So: there's no way what you are seeing could possibly ever happen.
It's on our list for today or tomorrow. I'm looking forward with a sense of dread to find out what's actually, really, despite-our-best-intentions, going on.
cheers
