It's meant to be enabled by default but occasionally something like a database timeout may cause it not to be set correctly will happen

The defaults weren't set for my last articles either. There might be something else going on there.

Something is happening with the timestamps in the insider news. I hope the hamsters didn't broke the timeline and we aren't heading to a paradox

Could you provide some detail. Everything looks fine to me.

Looks wrong here:
Four threads from 23 June in between threads from 8 hours ago and threads from 14½ hours ago.

I thought an image was worth 1000 words
Look the timestamps.
Threads with around "3 hours ago" are in the middle of June 23rd and 20th

We have the ability to post news items in advance, and when the news items get mirrored in the Insider News forum the advanced posting date can confuse things a little.

Conversion from VB to C#[^]
I posted this question in good faith and I am not sure if this question is a repeat except for the Subject line.
Based on the solution from previous question , I implemented the code and face another unique difficulty and so I posted it which is totally different question. So why was it closed saying it was a repeat. It is not to my best knowledge.

Try starting a new question: make sure the title reflects the new issue. Start by describing the new issue: show excerpts of the relevant code, and describe errors in detail. If there are no errors, describe what is happening, or not happening, that you expect to happen.

But, I can see other folks votes on solutions not posted by me.

Same here.
No more green block on accepted own solutions.
Upvote/Downvote is no more visible on own solutions.
I don' t see the point since "Reputation History" still show.

Just to clarify:
If you post a solution to a question you can't see the ratings on that solution, but you can see ratings on others' solutions?

Same happens in article moderation; perhaps a CSS issue.

I see yours and mine, but not his (FF here)
So I suppose a "local" problem in his user than a site / browser problem

well it's firefox, palemoon on a couple of work/client machines,
and right now opera (from another machine - my home machine - which has no problems with my other account (in palemoon))
setings->forums QA shows a signature but it never appears anywhere
(including the Click to edit signature below in the message entry/reply screen
weirdness. it's just this account.

THis may sound like a silly question, but have you set a sig at all? Because I've just gone back through your messages including samples back to your first and I saw no signature.
Check your account settings: hover over your username at the top right ot the page, and click "My Settings" from the dropdown.
Select the "Forums and QA" tab, and check the sig box in the middle:
What does it show?
Hint: WINKEY + SHIFT + S, select a region, paste into your message will add an image - but only in this forum!
