Looks like Jean Edwidge Luxama[^] deleted a post in the C++ forum, but only the text of it was deleted, check the post just after Image compression?[^] thread.
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

Another idea I had is to have an article to PDF conversion so people can download articles for future use. Is there any chance that something like this could be implemented in CP articles?
Thanks.
Trinity: Neo... nobody has ever done this before.
Neo: That's why it's going to work.

Have your tried saving the file to MHT?

Although it would be nice if CP did this automatically have you tried using the "Print Article" link to remove ads and then use a printer like CutePDF to print to a pdf file.
Not as nice I know but workable all the same, I've done this in the past to save articles.
I have no idea what I just said. But my intentions were sincere.

Yes, but I just thought that an automatic PDF creator would be nice.

I agree, maybe if someone put together an article with it then it might be implemented...

There are PDF printers too, I guess.

I was thinking, how about having a CodeProject Technology and/or Electronics forum? That way people can discuss problems with they're electronics or just general technology problems (software, drivers etc.)
Does anyone else think that this would be a good idea?

That's a great idea! Maybe a Perl/PHP forum.

*Opens book of generic excuses given to me by Chris*
"The Code Project is orientated more towards Microsoft technologies, we try to stay focused" (Lame excuse! I could moderate the forum and do all the focusing)
And also Perl is a waste of a forum.

Yeah, the Soapbox stays really focused! And besides, you could just get rid of the Web Development forum (HTML, CSS and Javascript really aren't THAT hard), and just have a PHP forum.
Bradml wrote: And also Perl is a waste of a forum.
Not if it's merged with another subject (i.e. PHP). And since AJAX is getting bigger, what about an AJAX forum?

What I would like to see are the following forums:
Client Web Design - HMTL, CSS, JavaScript, Flash(gasp), JAVA, XML/XSLT and so on
PHP/Perl(sacrilege) - PHP, Perl
I think this would bring a huge amount of new members to the site....

He is having enough trouble with the ones he has.
But I really think that a PHP forum would be a great idea. Maybe I could offer some services to the site in exchange for it....

be smart, try to mask it as PHP.NET (see http://php-compiler.net/[^]) forum

True. I think CP Team can consider creating a PHP forum.

Hi,
I would suggest if it is feasible, to have a vertical order logon in the side navigation for CodeProject rather than having at the top. By vertical order, I mean, username, password fields follow each other in next next lines rather than falling in the same line horizontally.
When we have a vertical order, we can control the 'Remember Me' checkbox by keyboard (TabIndex). This would also be in sync with most other logon screens.
Particularly, when we check and logon to CP from shared computers and Internet cafes, I think this should be very useful security measure.

That would require a complete site redesign.....

The Code Project has done it before. A while ago (can't remember when but in 2006), the site had a login on the left side of the screen.

We still have control over that check box . All it takes is the press of a tab button or a mouse click.
