At this time , always no receipt of daily newsletters
The reason is that FREE ,my "Fournisseur Acces Internet ( FAI )"
blocks receipt of newsletters coming from domain like US on their pop3 servers
I have the same problem with ZDNET, Techrepublic newsletters
I don't know why ( it seems that financial discussions between FREE and ORANGE
are in development and rather "hard")
I will try solution of new mail address on Gmail for instance and create a new account
with it , on Code project
Thanks

Same problem for me (no Daily Build since 30th August) and FREE is also my FAI.
I will try the same work-around (with my Gmail account).

Fixed (as best the voting system will allow once something has been voted on).

At least I assume it's a spambot - it's posting pretty quick for a human. And it's been about a week already.
I hate to say this: but is it time we had a Captcha? If nothing else, it will mess up their current script and make their lives difficult - at best they'll bugger off and try somewhere else.
I mean, they clearly aren't bright enough to notice that nothing is getting through, so getting past a captcha should give them real problems. If they have to use humans, the cost alone may well prevent them posting here.

I assume you mean a CAPTCHA on the sign-up page, not on the "new message" page?

No, on the message page I'm afraid.
The Russian TinyUrl mob appear to be signing up in advance - last Saturday all the users they posted with joined on the Friday - and signup is a (relatively) long process anyway compared to message posting. Slowing signup further doesn't help much unless we can kill users faster as well, given they are using each membership about 16 times before switching to the next.

OK, I see the point. It could get annoying though, unless it was something like reCAPTCHA[^], where you normally only need to tick a box.

You know, I don't find the actual spam cleaning to be such a big problem, the filter works quite fine I find. And it's also easy enough to work on.
The mess comes afterwards, with cleaning up the spammers.
First check if they have been reported before or not.
If not, post about them in the spam forum.
Check posts from other members if other spammer accounts need to be removed.
Double check if it's a probable spammer or not. If there is no obvious reason for why not (as the proof is already gone), trust the poster.
Report.
If it's the tenth report, add a note to the OP that it's been removed.
Honestly, the spammer accounts should be allowed to selfdestruct removed using a simpler procedure.
I'll post a suggestion a bit later when I've thought it through a bit.

Precisely.

The reputation graph for this member is unusual: JaoquinPerkins - Professional Profile[^]
It jumps instantaneously from < 10000 to > 60000 and other strange artifacts.

I have seen that many enquirers have started using the "What have you tried?" in QA... and that's fine.
But...
I think it would be a good idea, to copy the menu of
B I U S small BIG code var < > & link [^] encode untab case indent outdent
to the second input box as well. Many of the users are posting unformatted code in that field because they don't know how to write the "pre" tags manually (or are too lazy to do it)

I noticed it in the Reputation History page. It tells me I had a member sign-in event at 3:15am, and it was actually 4:15am.
I suppose that if you wait for a month or so, the time will fall back an hour, and everything will be okay, but I figured I'd tell you about it.

There's a setting in your profile that lets us know if you're in daylight saving time. I've turned yours on which should help.
In the future we'll be making this auto.

As for me the time on CP seems to be one hour behind, regardless of the "Daylight saving time" -setting. Something I'm missing?

... when you post or reply to something in the weekly survey? Is it too serious a matter???
