The fewer people who read your article here, the fewer people will vote for it here. Basically, by diluting the activity on your article, you lower the points you gain here.

Ok.. got it. you mean to say..If I am posting same article then the visitor will be distributed and that will affect on points.
But does It affect on MVP award by Microsoft or any other?
Thanks

CodeProject has its own MVP program.

That's great ! But if we talk about Microsoft MVP then it will affect to share same post on multiple site. I have read that before choosing the new MVP, Microsoft team always investigate to blogs/forums content.
Thanks

When you fill in an MVP form, you submit details of the articles you publish - it's generally better to show that you posted multiple unique articles, rather than one article multiple times.

Ok.. So, you mean, at the time of filling the MVP form, we should mention all the unique article which are published on any website. is this correct?
And please suggest some more idea to become CodeProject MVP as well as Microsoft MVP.
Thanks

As for the CP MVP. Publish a lot of high quality articles - that's what the likes of Sacha Barber and Marc Clifton do. Also, help out by giving good detailed answers in the forums and in quick answers. Basically, become an active, valued member of the community.

Thanks for all info from your side regarding this query. I have one question on my mind that at the time of apply for Microsoft MVP only we need to provide unique articles which are published on only on one website or we can provide all the articles details.

Mukesh

Microsoft MVP status is based on global contributions to furthering Microsoft technologies, so naturally they won't want to double-count articles.

Also, I would guess that if the same article is posted on a personal website that gets 100 hits a month versus being posted here on CP where it can get 10,000+ views a month, then it's fairly obvious which one holds more weight from a community impact perspective.

Since a survey knows if I've already voted, it would be nice if it allowed a user to change their vote.
Rationale: In this week's survey, I voted "Upholder" since I aim to meet all internal and external expectations, but I do question/verify that my external expectations make sense, which means I should really have voted "Questioner".

Feels mad sometimes when put some code in the answer box. Often it is hanged and possibly waited for the auto detection of programming language.
Forget about that, when it can't detect i wrote hard coded < pre > tags including language name and then the nightmare occurs! Most of the time it doesn't follow the code format and have a mess with <> symbols inside the code specially for XML's!
I assume the auto detection feature has still some bugs regarding these issues, also don't understand why the previous language choice bar is forbidden from answer box, missed some styles there too.
Hope will get a good suggestion from @ChrisMaunder, cheers!

I posted an answer in quick questions here[^] and includes some Regex in <code> tags. The actual expressions were
<code>(animal:)|(mineral:)|(vegetable:.*?)</code>
and
<code>((animal:)|(mineral:)|(vegetable:)).*?)</code>
However, when displayed, the asterixes are missing, and some of the text has turned italic.
Eventually got it displaying properly by replacing the code tags with pre tags.
Cheers,
Mick

Hello. And I have a question: Why after the most recent revision made of the CodeProject's
website lost a certain functionality on the Android-based devices. When opening the CodeProject's
website in Android Safari browser as well as other browsers downloaded from the Google Market, many
important elements are missing from the main page, including reputation, articles approvals, articles
competition, etc. For both Andoroid devices and PC the only mobile version of the site is available.
|
|
|
|
|
The Mobile version doesn't contain the full functionality. I'll make a note to add back an option to allow this.

Hello. I've puslished an article in December and I'd like to know what date the article competition is about to start ?

Because of the way the days fell this month, it will start at the end of next week.

Sean, I also have a question about the CodeProject website functionality.
Have you already read my previous post ?

Hi,
I approved this[^] by mistake. Slippage of mouse touch pad.
I don't see any way to revert back.

There are plenty of spam reports against it so they should cancel out your slip.

hi,
I am writing an article in code project and for some scenario i want to add video as its easy to show than to write all the steps. is it possible to add you tube link or upload video as inline in page.
|
|
|
|
|
Unfortunately the only way to add video is to let one of the editors know (like me) and we can add it for you. The one catch here, however, is that anytime you need to update your article you have to let us do it, or the video disappears and (perhaps) the article breaks. Feel free to email me the YouTube link and your article URL.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington
