Any idea what CodeSoso is, I was curious if any of my articles had been plagarised so I randomly picked a phrase and search google[^]. And got the codesos hits which all seem to link back to CP.

Is this a real concern, or a shameless plug for us to see your article from 2009?

Slacker007 wrote: Is this a real concern, or a shameless plug It is neither, I was curious and had no idea what the other site was. I'm astonished that the articles are still being downloaded on a regular basis and I only promote them in the forums when they are relevant to the question.
I really do not give a rats about the reputation so shameless plugs are a complete waste of time. Besides, the articles are ancient and I haven't used winforms since 2010, I don't have the depth in WPF to be writing insightful articles.

This Member[^] has been reported here[^]. I also reported the account, but i agree that his post can be posted in free tools.
He is on 8 at the moment so he would be no more shortly. Would you please remove that reports and shift that question/post to free tools?

I can still 'improve' a question, even after it has been closed / reported as spam.
Nothing wrong happens but seems a bit un-needed.
(in this case where I attempted it, it was actually benificial but that is very rare I think)

I once did something similar to a forum post:
I posted a message -> someone replied to my post -> I deleted my post -> I modified my post.
I don't think my edited content actually became visible, because the post was still showing "deleted", but it was weird.

Whenever any one is submitting any articles or tips the editor does not show any spelling mistake errors or grammatical errors. Grammatical errors are okay but I think there should be a spell checker in the editor.

Chris hasn't been able to get the CKEditor spell check plugin working, so no spell check.

I mistakenly set a bookmark on a 'Question' and I can delete it.
Looking at source code, the link's
<div> seems to be commented.
I put a question about it.
Delete a question's bookmark[^]
Thanks.

CodeProject is immensly useful to me for all sorts of coding help. I have read a number of articles in the last year or two and downloaded the examples code many times to learn. I also have to cut and paste or click the 'printonly' icon for the articles also along with these codes to read later and learn. These article prints finally go to an office word program and gets saved.
My suggestion is this: CodeProject can automatically include the article as part of the download (even as an HTML file - or at best a pdf file). This will help doing the cut / paste etc. Most importantly it will help save the articles along with the code samples so that we can read them later.
I have see some authors do this on their own.. I am giving this as a suggestion here.. May be it is there already - but waiting for a push to make it a default.
Well, thanks again to this wonderful & reliable site of coding help.

Why not just use the "bookmark" feature to add it to a list of article you are interested in? That way, when you go looking at the article you see the latest version, possibly with updated and improved source code?
(If you don't know about it, the bookmark is an orange "snakes tongue" to the left of the "print" icon at the top right of all articles)

You are right.. One more bookmark would do the thing.. But already with a system running into hundreds of bookmarks on all kinds of issues - finding this bookmark for the article is one more chore for the fingers on a tiring day.. also deleting these bookmarks never gets done by many of us.
We can as well google again and go on a wonderland of links by Mr.Google and picking up the third one by habit to land in a similar site - then wandering again back to code project and keying in the article name to see !
Well, coders are not productive people. We are logical but we do not have an idea of how to save our hours from wasteful searches and codes..
Pl help - ask code project team to atlease put a link inside the codes so that the page comes right inside the Visual Studio for all to look at it in a simple way !
This is a more simpler suggestion and many will save hours per week on this alone..

The problem you have is that a PDF version is stale as soon as you get it. If an author updates the article to correct a mistake, for instance, you end up with text that no longer represents the actual article.

But that second idea isn't bad: CP already reads the ZIP contents when you add it (to produce the EXE-free version) so it shouldn't be too difficult to add a URL file that takes you to the original article (or it's latest incarnation).
And that could be very handy!

Well, let me add one more Suggestion to my article link suggestion.. If possible (by means of some Voodoo magic or something available under the .net framework hood !) the codes can also be put neatly inside a specific folder called 'CodeProCodeFolder' or some such thing - right under the VS project available under the Mydocuments foldr - so that even the task of downloading the samples et al is done in a quicker way..
Now, we click & the page turns to do a small voodoo prayer and tells you to login so that it will grant the boon of the code download.. and you go to search for the password once again !
Why not a simple "GetThatCodeProjectSampleCode.com" kind of portal (with better and nice looking advertisements with some good models showing the wonders of their god given assemblies and other oddities - you know what I mean. As of now CP is just dull with orange colours all over) - which put automatically put all the damn sample code packets in one go..
Well, let us have a coding productivity improvement forum.. Many of us just hit the keyboards for more and more codes - with out even seeing the bright sunshine outside waiting for us to come and see the beauties outside. We see only the internal beauties - the leftovers available near our workstations.. not much choices there too.
Cheers ! (We are becoming better here with Code Project's help !)
