Sadly no, I can't create a blog entry out of an article. It has to start that way.
Thanks,

Ok, I abused my old blog. Created it there and pulled it to CP. Will edit the blog manually so it looks as if it comes from my new blog. This was supposed to be my first blog that wasn't pulled from that site though
At least I know not to pull this trick again...
Thanks!

Putting in a 'Force Re-pull' action would likely be a good idea, don't you agree @Chris-Maunder?

Doesn't make sense to update an article with the same content.
I'll dig in.

When you go to the View.aspx page of a member with a closed account, you see the notice that it has been closed, and who closed it. But when you go to the /Members/... page of the same member, you don't get that notice, you just see the message that CP is unable to find the requested member.
Can the /Members/... page please show this notice too?

If a member has been deleted then their username is now available again for someone else to use. Navigating to their profile using a username URL must therefore be disabled.

Just tried to upload a new article. Entered, title, sub heading, etc. and body of the article in the editor, using the "source" view (where you work in html).
When I hit preview, I see my new title, but the body of the article is still the default body (with instructions to authors). Saving the article as a draft and then resuming work on it results in a blank body during preview.

Update: Fixed.
There's a bug whereby the ACE colourising text editor isn't passing it's changes along to the HTML form that's being posted. It only updates the information to be sent when you either turn off the Ace editor or switch back to WYSIWYG.
I've spent the last several hours trying to fix it or get a work around.
For now, switch back to WYSIWYG before submitting or previewing.
cheers

Under the Professional Profile Settings there is a Social Networks section in which we can add various social profiles.
I'm just wondering would anyone else find it interesting to have GitHub, BitBucket, Assembla, etc. profiles listed there as well?

Hi,
I would like my account to be deleted.
I had searched in the forums and this was the appropriate place for this post, according to
http://www.codeproject.com/Questions/244833/Delete-My-Account-As-Soon-As-Possible
Thanks,
Please send me an email when possible

There is now a way to accomplish this yourself:
- Go to your settings page: https://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/Modify.aspx[^] (or in the dropdown from your profile name)
- Check the checkbox below your profile picture ("Close my account")
- Save your settings (button at the bottom)
|
|
|
|
|
The bad thing being, once you've learned how to do it, and done it, you will never need it anymore again.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Then what purpose should that checkbox serve?
I guess it might not necessarily work instantly, because there might be some things to cleanup, and maybe the deletion is executed by a scheduled job or something?
|
|
|
|
|
Trust me it doesn't work. Try it if you don't believe me.

It does work. Confirmed today with my former account.

I edited the title of this Q&A question[^] which originally was "Why is CreateObject("Outlook application") not working". I wanted to change it to "CreateObject("Outlook.application") : Cannot create ActiveX component" but after clicking "Update question" the title got truncated to "CreateObject("Outlook.applicat...".

Yes. I tried to edit it again and faced the same issue.

Thanks, fixed (and no - no spell checker for our survey creator, unfortunately. I do my best and check and double check but typos do slip through.

They did quote you as the author and claimed that they "translated" it.
