Here is something interesting I have seen.
If a user answer his own question and accept the answer and then delete the question from the answer then the added reputation points remains there. I think it should not be there or would be removed from total.
I do not fear of failure. I fear of giving up out of frustration.

This is a result of design. We *could* put in the logic to change this but it opens a can of worms.

I just had a look at the list of Q&A questions and the one directly at the top seem to have been edited by myself in the last hour (as of writing this of course).
The thing is unless I've subconsciously edited that post purely by using some sort of mind control, I'd say that never happened, but what do I know.
No I did most certainly NOT.png (4.8 KB)

Did you report the question? When you report and hence close a question it marks you as the final updater since you, in effect, updated the question.
I'm going to change that. Let's hope the site doesn't completely self destruct in the interim.

That was just a jab at the fact that a lot of stuff recently seems to break which formerly worked quite well. If fixing one thing breaks another you'd be in dire need of some serious QA. Just sayin'!
Cheers!

Hello,
When clicking on the sign in button, it display the login fields, but if I try to fill them with the lastpass extension, it never works. There are two methods to fill in the fields using the extension:
Method #1: Right click on any field > Lastpass > Auto-fill form > CodeProject. This method somewhat freezes the site, and I need to close the tab or refresh the page. I can scroll but the links on the page don't work at all.
Method #2: Left click on the extension icon inside a login field(a little dialog box show) > click on the first option. The problem with this is that I can't finish the method, because the "dialog box" floats over the page's "login box", so the moment that second box loses the focus (that is, the mouse is no longer over it, but over the "extension dialog box") the login box auto-closes.
The extension is meant both to give extra security with strong passwords, and convenience filling the fields for you. It works on all the sites that I visit, but here it gives me headaches
Using Chrome (35.0.1916.114 m), Lastpass extension (3.1.21), Windows 7 64bits

#1. Do you see any javascript errors in the console?
#2. If we added a delay to the closing of the dropdown then I assume that would help?

Today I'm not seeing the same behaviour as yesterday. The page freezes 5-10 seconds when the extension fill in the fields, but it recovers the control in the end. Yesterday the control never came back.
#1. I've seen a couple of times that the page couldn't load some script (Adblock off) but I can't reproduce how and when that happened, because I've cleared the console between tests, so now I can't recover the error. What I remember is that the script was stored in "workflow.codeproject.com", or some URL like that.
#2. Yes! That would help a lot =)
EDIT: This error appeared while navigating the page (logged in and adblock off)
Error in event handler for (unknown): Blocked a frame with origin "https://p-ta-front-v2.aws-codeproject.com" from accessing a cross-origin frame.

It's currently on the ToDo list.
I hope I can kick the plugin out by Wednesday.
I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.

Why does the "Latest Discussions" section of the front page have Q&A questions? These are not discussions....
I would expect that this section should contain the latest from the programming forums (i.e. C#. Web dev, and definitely not Lounge/Soapbox/Backroom etc.)
|
|
|
|

Well, yes, technically they are questions but they often digress into discussions.
However, I'm not going to defend that stance. It'd be a mug's game. Let me change it to "Latest Questions".

That's not the outcome I was expecting!
Rather than change it to Questions, change the content that appears under it.
On the the front page you have all the various sections, Community, Articles, Show Case, Best Picks, Latest News and the one in "Question" Latest Discussions.
Given that the Q&A questions asked can frequently be just drivel and garbage, I would have thought it be better to maybe ignore them from the frontpage and just keep to the real Discussions that occur under the various programming forums where chances are quality is going to be better and topic variety more varied.

) where message.flagged = 'false' sort by message.date desc "

Is there any documentation related to flags in quick answer section? currently we have below flags
- Unclear or Incomplete
- Repost
- Not a question
- Off-topic
- Spam/abusive
for example check below question,
Incremental Search results to feed into a gridview[^] and the comment was made by
Quote: This site does not work like that. We don't write code to order here. You either need to attempt to do this yourself or go to a site where you can hire someone to do it for you.
So it is clear that this question is not fit into quick answer section but the question is which flags we going to use!
